Every moment of this film was great! Wonderful true story and superb acting from all concerned! Brings home how terrible war is.

What an outstanding film

Hacksaw Ridge is excellent war film based on a true story about a army medic and conscientious objector during the Japanese conflict of World War Two. He saved lives of the wounded without carrying a gun. A hard hitting film about the brutality of war. The battle scenes of strong bloody violence gory injury detail. The film is value for money pleased with the purchase.

What a film. I have watched it so many times, I still can't believe it is based on a true story, simply mind blowing. To top it all, they show an interview with the actual guy at the end. Unbelievable.

The DVD is based on a true story. Incredible story of a Christian who wanted to join the American army but refused to carry a gun or kill. He got a very hard time in the army. He joined the medical corp and when sent to war, without carrying a gun, saved many many lives, including those who gave him a hard time earlier in his career. Definitely worth a watch, be aware bit bloody and graphic in some scenes.

Absolutely amazing movie. I never fully understood the story (as I've only heard bits and pieces about it) so after watching a friends video of her as Dorothy on TikTok, I decided to finally check it out. And WOW it brought me to tears in my eyes. What an amazing hero a real life person was in his army career all because he didn't wanna compromise his faith towards God by refusing to carry a weapon or cause anyone harm. Absolutely selfless act of bravery. I give Corporal Desmond T. Doss my respect for his bravery.You really need to watch this movie about a true story. You will not regret this. don't hesitate because of a Bible themed element. You gotta understand that when God said love thy neighbour, He actually meant it.
