Works well
I bought this to assist in soldering printed circuit boards and it does the job well, pretty sturdy with strong magnetics means third hands are stable and easy to use. The third hands can be easily bent to suit and I have found it to be a real help in soldering components onto PCBs. The only criticism is the poor quality of the grips as they bend easilly if you try to use them to change the position one of the stalks, make sure you have a good grip on the stalk to bend it. The grips themselves have plastic covers to protect the PCB so great little unit.

An excellent bit of kit
When searching for a soldering handy arm I was put off by those with plastic bendy arms, this device has metal goosenecks ... they are easy to adjust, even by small increments and hold their position well. The magnetic base is sturdy and nicely heavy, with rubber feet that can be mounted to prevent slipping.Magnetic holding arms can be repositioned to get the best position; they are held firmly and do not unintentionally shift.Having two lengths of bendy arms was, I thought, a gimmick ... but it makes positioning components more flexible. The alligator clips are of good quality with firm grip and plastic covers on the jaws and opening clip. They push mount into the necks and are held in place with a tightening screw (I find this can easily loosen and needs tightening, but easy to do) ... there are some spare alligator clips and tightening screws supplied. The inclusion of 4 PCB holders is a bonus! The only feature missing is a light, I already had a sheet music light and this clips on nicely to illuminate the working area.Highly recommended!

Great set of helping hands.
Ideal for hobbies where you need a spare pair of hands. The overall size of the unit is not very large, about 1ft square. The hands clamp to the metal base plate via strong magnets allowing you to move them to different positions and the clamps at the end are strong enough to hold item firmly., e.g circuit boards, model parts etc. It is a tad expensive compared to other similar products but you get what you pay for. Overall a good purchase that should last many years.

Great product
Received this and on first thoughts it’s of great qualityThe plate is extremely thick and sturdyThe magnets are of a good quality and quite strongI have not used this yet but can see that it will work wellThe long crocodile arm magnets could be stronger or it would be good for them also to be able to attach to the plate by some quick release holders for it to be even better .My only gripe is the sticky rubber mounts on the bottom are if poor quality and I can see them falling off and being lost . It’s a shame that you cannot fix them securely and permanently. There are also 6 holes in the plate and I’m not sure as to what these are for . All round a great quality product that will work well

Sturdy, useful tool
Love this. It has a heavy base, and the arms work quite well. It certainly improves my ability to position a board for soldering - more so than the 'third hand' device I have been using for half a century. Very pleased with this purchase.

Surprisingly average, slightly disappointed.
Right O’ let’s get another review done. So boys and girls or whatever you identify as today, I’ve got a couple of preciva tools and fair-play to them I’ve been quite impressed especially for the price so it only seemed that these would be no different. On a whole it’s not a bad product the bending arms are quite strong and stay in the position you set them in and the bottom plate is nice and thick which doesn’t flex and has a little weight to it, the only disappointing point is rather important though, being that the magnets in the base of the arm pillars could be stronger and as such do have a tendency to allow the arms to move on the base when a small amount of tension/force is applied to them. If I was working on say a pcb they might be ok but as I used it to help solder pixel and cob LED tape to cables for a very nice night club in Manchester I gave up and just soldered them on a heat proof mat. I can say though that it hasn’t put me off buying preciva products in the future as anyone who is a tool nerd will tell you not one brand is good at everything.

Shoddy
First impressions are bad- the paint is patchy and everything is flimsy- lots of plastic bits that fall off, stems of the croc clips are very thin folded sheet metal.Second impressions are worse, everything is cheap and bits love to come off. One of the croc clips was too badly crushed to be held in place by the little screws. The others were poorly held at best. One of the magnets stayed on the metal sheet when the arm was removed. It's a hot mess, it didn't even survive being used once for very light electronics work. Not recommended.
