I'm reviewing this product as I wanted to put some context around several other reviews regarding how this product is being marketed as unsweetened' as of the writing of this review (mid-January 2017). Before I do, I will say that I do like this product - it is a good instant chai with an interesting flavor profile. It's not my favorite, but I'd certainly purchase it again if my favorite instant chai was put-of-stock or jumped significantly in price. If you like instant chai and would prefer to sweeten it yourself using sugar or any other substance, I'd definitely purchase it. Though it does contain some added sugar, it's not very sweet at all.The issue which several other reviewers have pointed out is that the seller states this product is 'unsweetened' in the product's marketing text, whereas as evident can the seller's image of the product, is 'reduced sugar'. I've pasted the nutritional label below which shows added sugar as the second ingredient.So, how much added sugar? Given that 6oz (the product's serving size is 5oz) of reconstituted powdered skim milk (the product's main ingredient) has 28 grams of carbs and this product contains 7 grams of carbs per serving, the claim of 'reduced sugar' on the packaging is an accurate description. The carbs are likely from the sugars in powdered skim milk plus the addition of some added sugar. Without knowing anything about this chai, if I were given a cup, I'd think the claim of unsweetened was correct as it doesn't taste sweet at all.The marketing language should be changed to match the product's box - it's harming the satisfaction (and perhaps the health) of those purchasing the product as evident in the low ratings and content of the reviews. The product will continue to get negative reviews despite making a good cup of instant chai without much perceptible sweetness.

This is my favorite brand of chai, and I highly recommend it. However, note that is unsweetened - new to me so I had to add a little sugar

Loved the tea! My mornings got even better :) Consistent taste, so easy to make, an unbeatable traditional blend of Indian Masala Chai sans sugar & bang for the buck. Great product and so glad that Girnar's Chais (they have so many variants) are now available on amazon! It can't get better than this!

I ordered Girnar Instant Chai Premix unsweetened but received Girnar Masala Chai Milk Tea instead. Milk tea gives me indigestion and bloating, what am I supposed to do with this box now. Girnar makes more than one variety of product. Very unhappy and miffed. Rupa

Can’t get enough of this tea

So this is mostly chai spices + milk powder, not much coffee / black tea. The quantity of black tea is barely existent, so not much caffeine. That's why people drink chai. To wake the F up. After trying 2 days, I felt drowsy, probably due to the tryptophan from the milk powder.
