I watched a video on youtube for this model and it was extremely helpful. I mucked around with the two power settings and it works as stated - less power for easy-to-cut grass/weeds and more power (that will drain the battery faster) for most edging and tougher grass.This is our second/third B&D weed whacker. The last one lasted a couple of years when the spool stopped working. I had to manually pull out the line because after fairly short time, the button didn't release the line.I did all the trimming needed over a period of a few days due to the weight of the tool or my lack of strength. I kept one backup battery from the B&D I trashed (so have three batteries) and ultimately, it's why I decided to stay with B&D. They don't last long but with 3 batteries, I'm fine and the old one battery still works.I looked at comparably-priced Worx and debated between the two. I liked the weight on this but I assume the weight is without the battery. I'm a senior female and do enough work on the house that 5 lbs shouldn't be heavy but it is. However, I've easily done the edging and whacking on an unfortunately large corner lot. The wheel comes in handy and I'm don't know the Worx (w/two wheels) would've been any better - the edging looks pretty straight w/one wheel.I've probably run the machine for a couple of hours. Time will tell about how long it actually lasts but so far, it's really nice to have a weed whacker that's easy to use, easy to change settings, the string comes out without issue and I really like it.

This is a great little weed eater for light work around the house. it will not satisfy the requirements for heavy weed removal, I have been using these for several years with no problems, battery life is pretty good but I do wish there was a 5 or 6 amp hour battery, we cannot get it all done with one battery on a half acre, I suggest you could get a smaller lot done with one battery but everyone's situation is a little different, we are very satisfied with them and recommend them to friends, lightweight and easy to use, handy to have around,

I have trouble with the auto feed for the line. You have to push a button. I'm not sure what is going on with it. My last one did it by itself. Didn't have to do anything. Just drop your line in and go. This one I'm constantly having to mess with. Other than that it is fine. And I can use all the batteries I previously had for the last trimmer.

I absolutely love this. I bought this edger to replace my older model of the same edger (I have to say arlt least with the old one black and decker made an amazing product. I've left my old one in the Texas sun, heat even rain storms countless times over the last 6 to 8 years and it's still goin, it just wasn't holding a long enough charge. This new one works amazing i can do my entire front yard. The extra battery will come in handy. Thinking if purchasing an extra battery charger.It was extremely easy to put together as well.

Exactly what I was looking for. Second one I’ve bought. Last one last 4 years of much abuse. Highly recommend to anyone.

The media could not be loaded. Update: The trimmer itself is ok. But without working batteries, this is not worth purchasing.When the package arrived, I began to charge the batteries (that were included) with the charger (included). I was able to try the trimmer with the batteries that I had from my Black and Decker drill.This was the very reason we were excited for this product - two more batteries!However, the little lights on the battery charger were flashing red for hours when I was charging the new batteries. The batteries were not hot, they were just completely dead. After checking their model number, I learned they were from 2021 (3 years old).I then called Amazon for a replacement (not recommended), and although they were very accommodating, they were not helpful in the end. They recommend sending a replacement for exchange, and the replacement arrived with batteries from 2021 just like the first shipment which also did not work at all. When I called in again, Amazon offered a discount of about $20... Not enough for one generic battery let alone two replacements. I will also mention that my call dropped, so when I called again, Amazon offered less ($16). I then voiced my frustration because they were literally haggling to see if I'd accept a lower price.It is likely not a coincidence that two packages arrived with batteries from the same date, and all the batteries had the same issue. Shame on you, Amazon.Buyer beware! This is an issue with items on the shelf of an Amazon factory.However, we decided to keep the trimmer after contracting the manufacturer (Black and Decker). They were willing to replace the batteries. They sent us two brand new batteries in their packaging. This did, however, take almost three weeks when all was said and done.I would not recommend this product from Amazon, but I am happy to report that Black and Decker is a company that backs its products.

My favorite edger and weed eater combo. It easily converts from weed eater to edger by twisting the head to a different position and it has a wheel to help guide . Plus it’s very durable.
