Great anchor kit for a kayak
I've used it several times since buying it, it always performs well, holds the kayak in place even in fast water. It looks good, I didn't think I would like the color at first but it goes well with my green kayak, the rope is long enough for every place I've fished except one, and the weight vs use is great. And the price was excellent for the quality.

A perfect anchor except for...
A very good Anchor for the price. A better value than Yak Gear. The anchor is well built galvanized steal and painted red making it easier to find should you lose it. The claws can be locked either the open or closed position. The bag that comes with it is made of sturdy nylon and is also padded. The only thing I'd recommend is include at least 50 feet of line because 25 foot is not long enough. Other wise I would've given it 5 stars. The line it comes with (although too short) is pretty heavy-duty and the marker Buoy and steel snap ring is a nice addition. I'm using their cord as a tow line for other crafts. I'd recommend this Yak Gear Product to use with the anchor: YakAttack SideWinder, Anchor Line Reel, Includes Track Hardware and 75' of 550 ParacordIf you have a water craft heavier than 160 pounds including battery, motor and gear (minus the occupant), Don't waste your time on the 1.5 pound Anchor. the 1.5LB works well for 9 and 10 foot Kayaks. Anything bigger and I'd go with the 3LB or 3.5LB. My single-occupant Pontoon boat, with a full-sized battery Trolling Motor and gear was too heavy for the 1.5 LB and it wouldn't hold. The 3.5LB Anchor works perfectly. They show the Anchor tied at the top-end but "rock-Rigging" the Anchor (tied at the claw-end), is far better. If you tie it at the claw-end and zip tie the line at the top, you give the line a good pull and break the zip tie allowing you to pull the anchor out backwards if you get stuck. There are videos on YouTube that makes the rock-rigging easy. Search …"YakGear - How to "Rock Rig" an Anchor and Setup an "Add a Rope".Enjoy!

Great light weight anchor
I used this for my paddleboard and it did its job. Its light weight so easy to carry but it hold great. I love the size since it makes storage great. The quality is great so far, Ive used it every day for a week and its still doing its job.

Not for sandbars or beaches, probably great for rivers with rocky bottoms
So the anchor is compact and feels solid for smaller vessels. I purchased for my seadoo because of its compact size. I mostly use for sandbars which is probably the problem. I can see how this would be effective in rocky bottoms but it does not hold my seadoo effective enough that I can leave its side. Would recommend for non sandy locations but avoid if sandbars/beaches are your primary use.
