Very simple and useful

I love the tips in this book and my toddler loves a visual list of their options when they are feeling their feelings. We use this book everyday and do many of the options listed in the book. It helps him calm down and focus on what we can control. I will be purchasing another one to have on the go.

This is a great resource that I and my coworkers have used with our students.

I have used this item to help my students communicate to me their feelings and to help them find coping strategies. I have bought one for our support staff to share. It’s easy for anyone to pick it up and use. The appearance is appealing to students. The flip book is sturdy.

Not very Neurodivergent friendly, but a good basis.

My home is made up of primarily Neurodivergent members - many of whom struggle with accessing coping skills and describing emotions. I thought this might be a good place to start. It does feel quite solid, though it took us a little to get the hang of changing the pages as the tab you grab is not the emotion you'll flip to, so you have to grab the one in FRONT of the emotion you want. It feels solid and stands up well when I place two deck of cards in the folded stand for weight. Some of the emoticons are wildly misplaced, which gave us all a bit of a laugh, and some are 3D and shiny while others are not. At least I knew they were all looking at the faces and the details! So I'd almost mark this as a positive because it really makes you pay attention to details and ideas.I like that there is a section to write in other coping skills at the bottom of each page. I do not like that there are suggestions for some emotions that are just not people focused. For example, one of the coping skills for "Excited" is "I can calm down." Really? Unhelpful. We'll probably put a label over that one and make it another write-in space.Overall it's a good base tool for exploring more than just the basic emotions and it helps kids get the idea of the identifying and coping.

Very Helpful

I got this for my 6 year old son to help him understand his emotions better and how to better explain how he is feeling. He comes up to me with the page showing how he feels and we go over the different ways he can manage his emotions in a healthy and safe manner. HIGHLY recommended. Its easy for him to use and understand. It makes education about big feelings fun for him. Thw book itself is of great quailty. It's the perfect size for him.

Very useful teaching tool.Highly recommend.

My 4 year old son, like others who might be interested in this book, is on a journey to understand and regulate his emotions. During snacks times when he is calm and receptive we look through the emotions, laugh and talk about what the emoji can do when the emoji feels (whatever the emotion is showing). When I see him getting grumpy/worried/angry/frustrated I’ll grab the book, show him then page and let him look at the pictures. Sometimes we talk about what he can do to move from angry to calm, but sometimes he just looks at the pictures. It’s enough to distract him from whatever is upsetting him to de escalate the situation. Other times he helps me flip the pages, point at what might help and that is what we do. The visuals are very helpful. It’s very useful for teaching about emotions, how to name them and how to manage them. I see my son growing daily and know that this handy “guide to taking control of your feelings” is helping him make forward progress. The only thing I would change is the binding. We’ve flipped through this book numerous times and on occasion some pages come lose. I’m able to put them back on so it still works just a little bothersome. Still I highly recommend this as a teaching tool about emotions in a positive way during calm times, and then as a tool to redirect behavior when emotions are rising.

Self management for kids-homeschool friendly great for grown ups too

This product was absolutely amazing. I got tired I'm trying to solve all my kids problems especially with homeschooling during covid-19. I felt like I was going bonkers trying to managemyhome work pay the bills all wow solving every single little problem that came up with the kids that came up all the time throughout the day like if they were bored hungry frustrated irritated or even excited. Now I refer to the chart when I see these emotions creeping up and them or they have done something with one of the emotions. I use the chart as a first warning to allow them to use their choices and make a good choice before I have to step in and solve the problem at which point they will be disciplined or in trouble of some kind. This has been working because my brain doesn't have to work overtime to solve all the world's problems that come up for my kids and they would rather self-managed and learn about proper Choice has it relates to be specific feeling Dan for me to step in and solve the problem. This has been a blessing and brought great peace to our household and I'm so proud of my boys for learning skills that that carry over into other aspects of their life where they had would have to learn to make good choices and manage their emotions. This should be a must for every household and classroom in America! Heck I even used it a few times when I had overwhelming emotions that I didn't know what to do with on the Fly and I was able to come up with a good choice to manage my emotions! My kids love this it's a lot of fun for them they stay at the chart all day long. You will not be disappointed.

Not laminated

My son enjoys using this to express how he's feeling, both when he's in a good mood or a bad mood. He also grabs it and brings it to me to ask how I'm feeling.I only have a couple complaints, it is made of card stock so it's sturdy, but it is definitely NOT laminated. My son could tear the tabs off if he tried and one of them already has been crumpled. (We've only owned this for about a week.) My other complaint is that the options of "what to do" are a bit repetitive. For example, "I can write about it" appears as an option for 6 of the 18 feelings. I wish there was a greater variety of possible actions.Overall, it's a really handy idea. It helps kids identify their emotions with big emojis and gives them options for how to best proceed. It's a shame it's not laminated, you can't write on it.
