So far I've charged different size Li-Ion and Ni-MH batteries hundreds of times and so far it worked flawlessly. Fully automatic- recognizes different chemistries and adjusts voltage and current accordingly. LCD shows one charging current gauge(for both channels), chemistry type for each channel and current voltage for each channel. It also displays how many mAh where "pushed" into each battery - this one should be read as approximate due to losses not all of displayed value "stayed " in the battery and although it's approximate only it is useful to judge battery degradation over time.So far I'm very satisfied with and if you want one charger which is:*suitable for most chemistries*suitable for most cell sizes*is plug and play product*you don't need to charge more than two cells at oncethen this charger is a strong contender.Hope it is helpful.

Great charger for 18650 & 21700, great value and design.

Used a goodnfew times already, this charger works well. I nice clear lcd display tells you exactly what's going with recharging. Highly recommend.

This review is for the VC4+ model.First of all, this is a great little charger for Ni-Cd, Ni-MH or Lithium ion batteries. It's easy to use: simply insert the battery and the charger auto senses which type of battery it is (NiMH or Li-ion) and begins charging accordingly.You can charge 1-4 batteries of any mixture of NiMH or LI-ion and select the charging current via a button on top of the charger - anything from 3 amps for a single battery or up to 3 amps shared across the number of batteries on charge. As the supplied QC3.0 compatible mains unit can only output 3 amps (18 watts maximum) this has to be shared across the batteries being charged, so you can't charge 4 batteries at 3 amps. I tend to use 250mA as standard, but be aware that every time the charger is powered up, it defaults to 3 amps, requiring you to press the 'Cur' button to obtain the desired charging current which can be set as follows: 3A, 2A, 1A, 0.5A and 0.25A and back to 3A again and so on.The supplied QC mains unit outputs 9V to my VC4+ at around 0.2A when I'm charging two cells at 250mA (the lowest setting), which is about right. I'm not sure if other, more powerful QC chargers (e.g. 30 or 35 watt) can be used: I can't see why not as the VC4+ has a USB C power input socket on. The unit is supplied with a 0.75 metre long USB A plug to USB C plug lead which plugs into the mains unit and charger.The charger senses when the battery is fully charged and flashes FULL on the display and the red charging light turns green to show charging has stopped.One area where this charger does not fare well is when dealing with batteries that have been over-discharged and are giving out no voltage at all: after around 3 seconds the display flashes ERR and nothing further happens. I have an EBL 'intelligent' charger that will at least try for a minute or so before giving up and often this is enough to 'wake up' a dead battery. This dead cell problem is usually caused by fine crystals of electrolyte connecting both electrodes together and effectively shorting out the battery and preventing it from charging. There is a way to overcome this problem: you'll have to search online.Whilst this charger will charge 4 batteries at once, you can only charge two D batteries at once as there isn't room in the charging bay for any more than two. You can use slots 1&3, 2&4 or 1&4. The charger can accept 4x any other size at once up to C size, but no fatter.I have just charged two 8AH 26650 Li-ion and many NiMH battries with no problems.Now for the gripes: all of which are minor.1) the display can be difficult to read sometimes as the text (particularly the battery voltage) is very small.2) The positive connectors on the 4 slots could do with being a tad taller and a little more proud of the casing as some batteries - particularly D batteries - struggle to make connection with the contact. I have two Varta AAA NiMH batteries with almost flush positive contacts on and they refuse to connect at all as the contact on the charger does not stand proud enough from the casing.3) The charger compartment could do with being a little wider to accommodate 4x D batteries at once.4) I would prefer to see 0.25A charging current be the 'default' charging current rather than 3ARecommended overall, but if the minor niggles I've highlighted are addressed in later versions, this charger will be a real winner!

This is a fantastic charger with much more details about the charging than my old charger.

Unfortunately this arrived with the screen damaged and is unusable. Will be returning.

I'm a vaper so charge 18650 Lithium-Ion batteries daily.This will be my 3rd Xtar charger, I still have the 1st one I bought (VC4) as a backup.. but it's very basic & doesn't support fast charge.I think I pretty much wore out the last one (VC4SL) which had the same functions as this VC4 Plus.I also like how I can recharge my NiMH AA's with this unit.The Grade function is handy to analyse the full capacity of the battery (but it does take a while to complete).Overall I highly recommend Xtar battery chargers & the price is good too :)I wouldn't use anything else to charge my Lithium-Ion batteries!
