Great Little Tablet for a Young Kid

I got this 8-inch Android tablet for my little cousin Freud, and honestly, it’s been a solid choice for an 8-year-old. He uses it mostly for watching videos, playing games, and doing some basic school stuff his teacher assigns online. At first, I wasn’t sure how well it would hold up—kids can be rough on electronics—but so far, it’s survived drops, spills (thankfully not directly on the screen), and even being left in his backpack overnight. The specs are nothing fancy, but for what he needs, they work just fine. It’s got 4GB RAM + 8GB extended memory and 64GB of storage, which sounds confusing at first, but basically means it handles apps and videos without too much lag. He’s able to stream cartoons and play Roblox with no freezing or crashing, which is all we really needed it to do.It runs on Android, so downloading kid-friendly apps is super easy, and the touchscreen feels responsive—even with sticky fingers. The screen isn’t ultra high-res, but it’s bright enough for indoor use and outdoors in the shade. Battery life is decent too—he can get about 4-5 hours of continuous video playback before needing a charge, which is totally normal for a small tablet like this.To be fair, it’s not built for heavy multitasking or advanced use—it’s definitely a budget device. But for a kid who just wants something fun and functional, it’s perfect. Plus, it came with a case and stylus, which surprised me for the price. If you’re looking for an affordable, kid-friendly tablet, this one checks all the boxes. Freud loves it and hasn’t stopped using it since day one!

Valuable

Have been using this palm size tablet for one week, and overall it is great for this price. Unlike other big screen tablets this one is easy to carry and not heavy to hold but the performance is still very good for watching videos.Battery is also impressive, can get a full day of use with moderate web browsing and video watching.

I'm blown away by this tablet's performance! The display is vibrant, and the battery life is impressive. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a powerful Android tablet.I love the design is sleek and lightweight and the bright orange color its absolutely beautiful!!!The camera quality is great, and the storage capacity is very decent, just what I need.If you're looking for a reliable and tablet, look no further! And the best part is the price, very reasonable

Very slow with poor battery life

Maybe my unit is defective but it is super slow, laggy, and has terrible battery life, even when the battery saver is on and the screen is dimmed - even to the point that it's hard to read. It takes forever to boot up - like 5-10 minutes, and navigating the internet is frustratingly slow.Edited to add: no product support. I've contacted them twice because it's still under warranty but the company has not responded at all.It might have been worth about a quarter of what I paid. It's almost as slow as the 8-year old tablet I have. I assumed tablets have gotten a lot faster since then. Not this one. It's not worth your money. Spend a bit more and get a strong name brand tablet.

Be realistic about what you need or want in a tablet and this could work fine for you.

First: I got this for basic reading of books, like manuals for my camera, etc. I did not plan on watching videos or playing games. I did not want to be tied to Amazon tablets. They are nice for some but I needed more control and access to non-Amazon materials.Second: I have three other tablets so I know a thing or two about how things like this work. One older tablet is an Acer from some years back. Android 5, same screen size but older, slower processor. Nice screen but SLOW! Can't run modern apps, even Play Store or Kindle. This tablet is much better than it. My other two tablets are my main go-to for any work or internet. They are higher end late model Samsung S series. Beautiful displays, fast, lots of memory.....oh..and EXPENSIVE. (You do get what you pay for). So, to compare this tablet to those. Its wrong to try to compare this to the Samsung models. They are superior in every way and have a price tag to go along with that. But, they are much larger, I needed an 8" tablet. This table is for simple tasks like reading manuals and books and for that its just fine. Its screen is OK, its fast enough for that job. Its snappy loading an app, etc. It is not what I would want for watching movies or doing any serious web browsing. One thing about mine, and maybe others, it is S-L-O-W booting up on startup. At first I thought it was locked up. Then I just sat back and gave it lots of time and sure enough it did come up after what seemed like several minutes. Its still new and I haven't had time to figure out if there are apps I can delete to speed this up. I have a feeling this might help. Once its up and running all is well. Normally now I just put it to sleep rather than shutting it down. That helps to make it faster to start up but also drains its smallish battery. Trade off time...Next thing: Its battery...its not large. Its around 4000mA while some of the others in this range are 5100mA. It does make a difference in run time. For my limited reading time it will run for a day or two, maybe three before I charge it. (But I don't use it a lot). For a heavy user you would likely need to charge it every day so consider what your intended use would be.Build quality: It seems well made. Nice metal case, a screen protector already installed, etc. They claim the charging port is build extra strong but I can't confirm or deny that. Conclusion: You have to judge any product on value and suitability for your purpose. In that regard this tablet holds its own depending on your intended use. It has enough memory to run Android properly (unlike some other choices out there), it has a micro SD slot and I can load up all my books and manuals on that card and not use up any of the main memory. Once booted up it seems to run well for a tablet in this price range.I would have paid twice as much for a "S" series Samsung in this size but it seems they have dropped out of the smaller tablet market. I will not buy any Apple product so an overpriced Mini-i Pad was off my list. (I am too invested in Android). That said this tablet seems a reasonable choice in this size/price range. I hope it lasts a few years!Would I buy again? Well, as I pointed out, in this size range for a basic tablet your choices are limited if you don't want an Amazon device. So, a definite "maybe". I have looked at Lenova's but they seem to skimp on the memory which really slows them down and limits them. Do some research and see how much memory is recommended for each version of Android. Also pay attention to how much actual memory other tablets actually have available. Some brands are claiming to have more they they actually do as they use "virtual memory" which is a slow way to operate. Read the reviews and remember this tablet will have both good and bad reviews. I think that is because some wanted to pay a little and get a Samsung "S" equivalent tablet. Sorry, that doesn't happen! This thing is what it is and for me works just fine.

A1 Quality for very inexpensive price

This Callsky tablet is solidly made. Works great, has vibrant screen, plenty of memory. I am a general web user, email, youtube, news, spotify, wikipedia, sports scores and videos. This tablet handles all this well.
