They Thermal Throttle
I have tested 2 of these drives. Comparing them to a Samsung FIT drive at 256 capacity they are physically smaller and much slower. They can "Burst" write at near 150MB/s for about 10 seconds, enough for a 1 Gig file or so. Afterwards they thermal throttle and drop back down to around USB2.0 speeds, and fluctuate consistently up and down as thermal head room allows. Many people complain that it is misleading in the nomenclature, and I agree that it is, but that is also an inherent limitation of the design. To store this amount of data in a self contained device with the interface for a standard USB while being about the same length as a MicroSD card means there is going to be a thermal limt, and the drive will limit the speed in an attempt to make sure that it doesn't overheat and kill itself prematurely. As such this drive is best for occasional writes and reads of larger files. I believe continuous file transfers will overheat the drive and lead to premature failures. If you need lots of file transfers, need an inherently durable unit, or want to use it in something that generates a lot of heat like an enclosed area, or a car stereo, opt for physically larger version that has better heat capacity/dissipation.Compared to my Samsung FIT 256gb, which is both physically larger and at only half the storage capacity, the Samsung can do much faster at around 80MB/s sustained write. But it has half the capacity.I suspect this is also why Samsung has not released a 512gb version of their line.Between this unit and the Sandisk model, this has the benefit of a metal body. Both have reports of coming apart, but this should at least be better at dissipating heat, which may or may not translate into better longevity.Overall, I think it is good for the occasional use drive for storage purposes. I will return one and keep the other. I wish Sandisk still made a Cruzer Titanium. That would be a great option in this capacity.

Wonderful!
So far, it is everything I hoped it would be! I mostly bought because of another review, where a coal burned into the top and it saved their tablet. My tablet is my life right now, especially since getting my breast cancer diagnosis. So this is great to keep it safe and secure for me during this trying time. 🩷

Very good value for money - long lasting!
Reordering after almost 6 years as my current one has finally started to show some signs of fatigue. It's been used pretty much daily, across 4 continents and 22 countries...but the bonding on the hinge is finally giving up. Works better than the official Samsung cover, and the auto-off functionality is great. Wish more products were this level of quality.

Fits Very Well
Fits my Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e tablet very nicely. The power button is a little hard to get to but other than that greata case.
