I'm the kind of guy who cooks outside every opportunity I get. I will bbq in a blizzard if it gives me the meal I want, and everyone knows the foundation of a proper meat rub is salt, pepper, and garlic. You can always add more to it, but this is where all good things begin. So when I saw this on offer, I figured lets give it a go.I'm happy to report that these work well for BBQ, which is good, since they are being advertised as camp spices, and pretty much all camp cooking is going to be BBQ. Both seem to be somewhere between a 2:1 to 2.5:1 ratio of salt to onion or garlic, which is about right for texas style bbq. I have tried these on chicken thighs, pork shoulders, and brisket so far, and all came out delightful. Not too salty, since a large portion of that salt will end up being removed as the fat cooks off in a smoker. They're perfect for cooking, but probably not the spice I'd grab for to add flavor to something that is already cooked.The only reason I am removing a star here is because I really don't understand what makes this a camping spice set. The only difference between these containers and most brands are that these are glass and more easily reusable, but even then, it doesn't really seem like a "camp" spice set. I still like them, and will use them until they're all gone, but I'm just confused on that one aspect of the product.

I’m happy with these spices, they have good flavor and you get a lot in these jars.They’re labeled as “camping” but not too sure what the difference is, since they come in just regular ole jars like you’d get at the grocery store.Size is the same and flavor is the same in my opinion

I love throwing this in our picnic bag and lunch bags for on the go seasoning. A little goes a long way and the flavor comes through really well. I hope it last awhile with regular use.

I just wanted the spice set even though I wasn't going anywhere. The packaging is nice, very clearly labeled, and the spices inside look secure and clean. It's a good combination for a lot of things (onion/garlic), so long as you watch out for the sodium. They seem like they should pretty much last forever, so it's nice to have them in the pantry for whenever I need them.They're also decent sized, so they'll last a while, because I don't use a massive amount.Basically, it's a nice set of spices.

Well it was exactly what was expected, garlic salt and onion salt. They come in handy containers that seal well if you needed to travel with them and then you can reuse the containers.The flavors were there but not very strong. Both tasted mostly like salt so be careful the first time you use it so you don't over salt your food.I think the price is a little bit high for flavored salt but I guess the reusable bottle does make up for it
