Great tech but be ready to spend another 100-150 improving it

This device is truly remarkable.I believe this technology represents a significant step toward the future. While it is still in its early stages, the potential is undeniable. The included head strap could be improved; I would recommend exploring alternative options with ratcheting mechanisms.Additionally, the face cushion might benefit from an upgrade, as there are superior alternatives available. For those intending to use it with a Windows PC or laptop, the Virtual Desktop application is a worthwhile investment. The battery life is satisfactory, though it can be significantly extended by utilizing an external power bank, of which there are many excellent choices available.

The Best Customer Service I've Ever Had | Unfortunately, the head strap isn't comfortable for me

Edit: Almost 8 months later I decided to review the strap (3/5, lacking comfort), and customer service reached out to me through Amazon to see how they could best make it right. I didn't reply since I am still using the head strap and had no real way for them to make it right. One of their employees (labelled Manager in the email) then personally emailed me and asked if I would like a full refund on the 8 month old order, and if I would like to participate in testing a future head strap they are working on, free of charge.I politely declined the refund, as at only $34 it's still a more comfortable experience than the original head strap, and is cheaper than the Elite strap, and I'm still using it, so it really isn't all that terrible. Despite my polite decline, they still have issued me a full refund. For full discretion, they did request that I raise my rating from 3 to 4 stars, however with how polite and interested in making the situation right they are, I was going to increase my rating either way. It's not every day that you see customer service like this, and it's definitely not every day that a company decides to issue a full refund without a return to try and make it right for you.Original: I was hoping that the halo style would make this extremely comfortable, however it's proven to be less than ideal, specifically because of the top headrest. The way that it's designed and it presses onto your face, the top headrest is necessary to balance out the headset. However, it tends to create a hotspot wherever it's sitting. You have to have it sitting at least in the middle or towards the front, having it in the back doesn't balance the headset correctly. When sitting on top of my head (in the dip), it tends to get a little heavy and eventually gets uncomfortable, making me feel the need to shift it around. When sitting forward like a more traditional halo strap, it does take a lot of the headset's weight off of the face, but creates another hotspot on the forehead. I much prefer it sitting in the center of my head.In order for it to latch "correctly", the back strap has to be rotated so it sits at the base of the skull, slightly pointed upwards. This is the most comfortable position and aligns the headset with my eyes best. However, if I look straight up, the mechanism holding it in that position tends to slip, causing me to need to swivel it back to the base of my skull in order to remain playing comfortably. This occurs regardless of how tight I have it strapped to my head.I really wish I could give it a better rating, but for all the minor annoyances, I wish that I would have chosen a different style head strap.

A clear improvement over the default strap

The default strap isn't *bad*, per se, but I found it performed poorly in games like The Climb, where I spent a lot of time looking upwards. I would find myself having to take frequent breaks due to pain in my neck. Upgrading to the halo strap made the system much more comfortable to wear for extended periods.

Decent choice

Takes down getting use to, but it does a slightly better job at distributing weight than the stock strap that came with the quest 3.

Super simple fix that actually works really well

I'm someone who really can't stand any amount of pressure on the front of my face when using a VR headset. So of course after purchasing a Quest 3 recently, I quickly found myself having a rather unpleasant time dealing with the stock strap. As such, lacking any viable third party options at the time, I purchased the official Elite strap. It is most definitely an upgrade, don't get me wrong, but at the end of the day, it still places far too much pressure on the front of my face no matter how which way I adjusted it. Like many others, I'd been waiting for the BOBOVR M3 to come back into stock. I've never used a Halo strap before but I was hopeful it would serve to alleviate the pressure on my face. Since I'm also super impatient, I've been checking back every day hoping for the M3 or at least something comparable to come available, but after more than a week of checking with nothing to show for it, I decided to branch out my search a bit, which is when I came across this head strap with it's rather unique design. At its core, it's really just the traditional Elite design but with the addition of a second adjustment mechanism placed at the top of the head in addition to the one at the back, and honestly, now that I've tried this design, I can confidently say that it should be the new standard for VR headsets moving forward. The wholly insufficient solution to alleviate front facial pressure that is used by the Elite head strap as well as many other similarly designed VR headsets over the years tries to pull the weight of the headset back over the top of the head with a single sad cloth Velcro strap. I disliked the design on the Index I purchased back in 2019, and continue to dislike it on the Quest 3's Elite strap 4 years later. The Index/Elite style strap gets half-way there by recognizing that trying to work with cloth straps connected by Velcro at the back of your head is unpleasant so how about we employ a rigid adjustment mechanism that is superior in stability, comfort, and ease of use instead. The DESTEK QH3 simply follows that line of thinking to its logical conclusion by recognizing that if replacing the unstable, difficult to work with Velcro bands on the rear of the headset provided a marked improvement on comfort, perhaps making the same change with regards to the solitary Velcro band at the top of the headset might bring about a similarly noteworthy improvement... Lo and behold, it does indeed, and there was much rejoicing in the land!
