It does what it does.
On a MK5 Jetta, this is a fairly easy install. The sensor is located right under the intake pipe on the upper right side of the motor. I only had to take off the air box and 1 clip to swap it. Fair warning, it will pee coolant all over your engine bay if you don't drain it before hand or, if you're fast enough, just cover everything in the area with a crappy towel you don't care about.

Fixed my check engine light
This sensor was easy to install on my VW Jetta and fixed a long running cooling system CEL that mechanic insisted was the thermostat, but couldn't fix after 2 tries. We'll see how long it lasts.

2010 audi a4 b8 2.0 quattro
works and solved the p0118 engine code. So the p2181 is for the thermostat where most people say replace the coolant sensor and see if the code goes away and then replace the thermostat if not. We can see here there are 2 different codes and one for each. The 2181 was replaced 6 months ago with new thermo and coolant sensor. The sensor just died hence the p118 code and it solved the problem. Hope this helps since there are not a whole lot of info on Audi and so many different years and models.
