Q: Whats the difference between the E5u and E5 Red?

E5U: the sidelight comes with white/uv/white, the front light is equipped with 6500 cool white emitter, the case glows (green) in the dark. E5R: the sidelight is red/white/red, the front light is 4000k warm white version.the case glows (green) in the dark. E7U: the sidelight is white/uv/white, the front light is 6500K cool white, the case glow(blue) in the dark. Hope this helps.

Q: How do you use this? The buttons to turn which light?

Hello. The instruction was a bit unclear but here it goes from my current one. Top button (closest to headlight): 1. Click once, turns on the lowest light 2. Click twice, turns on the pre set level, I have the middle. To set the level for the mode, while on, click button once and it changes to the different level and when you turn it off by long pressing button, it will set to that level. 3. Hold down, turns on the brightest level Bottom button: 1. Hit once and low white light turns on 2. Hit twice and red light turns on To set levels for either one, follow item #2 above from top button Hope this helps. Really like it... Had it for a few months and very useful since I have it with me and the keys.

Q: If you put in a rechargeable AAA battery will it get charged when internal battery inside the flashlight itself is being recharged?

It will only charge the built-in li-po battery.
