Seems expensive but well made strong bit kit that does exactly what it should

This is the second I've bought. Much better than simple springs, and better lasting than gas spring struts.The closer can be adjusted for speed and closing speed. It does not result in noisy crashing closure.The main difficulty with this is the limited attachments at both jamb and gate, with a requirement that the hinge is in the same plane as the gate hinges. Fastening to a wide post can involve brackets and some chasing out. The attachment to the gate also can be difficult if the gate is metal.I may update this review with photos of how I've overcome these, but it really is worth doing.Because of these limitations and the absence of any accessories by the supplier, I am giving 4 stars. Functionally it is worth 5.

My gate is on a sloped path and posties/delivery men never close it or lock it just allow it to slam behind them, often times not latching. Each time the gate slams my dogs react, despite trying numerous things to change this reaction and a sign on the gate, nothing worked.This however is perfect, it installs in under 5 minutes and has solved our problems. No more gate slamming and no more dogs barking! Although quite pricey it's worth it, I hope it lasts a while as it's made life a lot quieter and safer as now our gate latches itself so no risk of our dogs escaping after parcel men have been.

This is now the 4th one of these I have purchased. There is nothing else I can find on the market that does what this closer does, and it does it very well! No more gate slamming like you get with the other closers, and the “latching” function at the end of the stroke is perfect. However……they only last about 15months and then stop working (normally in winter…)! I have purchased from different suppliers and the same thing happens. I still think it is worthwhile but needs to be treated as a disposable item……
