Essential Maths Skills for AS/A Level Computer Science

Amazing book, I am doing my gcse computer science course but am finding this book very useful with understanding the maths involved, some symbols used in the book also helped with my maths, would recommend

Easy to follow and understand

Had to remember some maths before going to uni, this was quite helpful.

Nice book, it could contain more exercises but it is a good book

This is a nicely laid out book and the worked examples and guided questions are great.I am a teacher and there is excellent stuff in here to 'inspire' classroom activities.However, it is now out-of-date, saying that topics are A2 when they are now AS as a result of the recent A Level reforms.I have more serious criticisms:1. A little obscure if you don't know about binary arithmetic - treatment of negative floating point binary numbers is perfunctory and leaves the reader a little confused about why one pads with 1's instead of zero's when moving decimal points to the left in mantissae. This is a real irritation.2. More seriously, there are errors and I can find no errata sheet in the book or online - this is REALLY ANNOYING and I scratched my head on more than one occasion wondering how a particular result was achieved.So it looked great but caused issues for me in use.A new edition which is up to date with current syllabi, which covers binary arithmetic more fully and corrects the errors is overdue.I would think this is the right team to produce that book - as long as they take their time over it's production and achieve the excellent quality they can reach on every page and for every topic.
