At low rpm, is this fan as quiet as the standard brown NF-F12s?
The screws they sent with the fan are way too short - who do i contact to get replacements?
I have a evga gtx 960 gpu. would this fan be louder than the on board fans of this gpu ?
Can these be powered using just 2 wires (positive and negative) at 12v using a potentiometer to control the speed/voltage?

High Airflow / Static Pressure at low RPM

These are honestly the best «high static pressure» fans I have ever seen. They can be used anywhere, but you need high static pressure fans if you are going to use them with a radiator/water cooling.I bought these to replace my NZXT Kraken Z73 360MM AIO's stock fans - which are not bad, but are weaker in terms of performance / speed / static pressure.I honestly expected more noise for 1800rpm, so was pleasantly surprised - I'm running 3 of them in my system and at speeds of up to 1800 rpm - the fans operate in surprising silence.· They're so efficient that even at around 50-60% (1500-1800 rpm) speed they're keeping everything cool and run virtually inaudible.· At 60-75% (1800-2250 rpm) they make a "swoosh" noise that's acceptable (and a lot better than the average annoying fan sound).· At 75%-100% (2250-3000 rpm) - we can hear a more serious noise, but I don't see the need to run it at those speeds unless you're cooling a very hot radiator.👉 It's also very important to say they look very good; build quality is impressive; the sleeved cables and anti-vibration pads are top notch.✔ Pros:+ High static pressure at low RPM (perfect for radiators)+ Focused airflow (meaning straight air path for better dissipation)+ Low noise levels+ Superior build quality / Top notch materials✖ Cons:<none>I will update if I find anything on continuous use.Overall, I'm extremely happy and will buy again in the future.Definitely recommended!↘ ↘ ↘I rely on reviews when I make purchases, so I put a lot of time into reviewing everything I buy on Amazon. Please, show your appreciation by clicking the "Helpful" below when it asks if the review is really helpful!Thank you for your time and Have a great day!

Performance over all else.

Bought this to replace a dying CPU fan.Points:* This fan is loud. However, it's not as loud as you might expect. This can be mitigated by setting your fan curves in your BIOS to only go above 20% when under load, and also just wearing headphones. 20% is easily enough to keep the fan no louder than my few remaining Molex fans (hey, they're ancient but the airflow is fantastic), while still keeping it cool at low load.It does get fairly loud on heavy loads (Mine is set to go to 100% at 65'C), but I find video game audio drowns it out pretty well. It might bother you if you're doing other intensive tasks like video rendering.* This fan is effective. I'm getting 10'C lower temps under prime95 load. Considering I did nothing but replace the CPU fan and I'm just using a regular Hyper 212 EVO cooler, that's damn good.* The rubber corner pads are brown. I dislike it, but it's not exactly ugly. You can swap them out with the coloured pads that come with Chromax fans and that you can buy separately. I changed mine to solid black.* This fan is designed for pressure, not for airflow. You'll want one of the S12A variants of whichever series for case fans (The A12 variants are good all-rounders also). In summary:This is a very good fan, but you should only buy this if you only about performance above all else.Buy a different Noctua fan if you want a good balance of volume and performance. The Chromax line is good and looks pretty.

Are you an enthusiast? Seeking ultimate performance? These are for you.

Okay, I wanted to write a proper review of my experiences with Noctua and their products which involves the 3000 RPM fans.In 2014 I bought their top of the line air cooler. Big, chunky and silent. Allowed my 4790K to get up to 4.8Ghz.I then build an absolute monster of a PC in 2018 with 2x 2080 Tis and 9900K. This included 2x Revo D5 pumps and 3x 480mm CoolStream XE radiators from EKWB and 1x 240mm Coolstream XE radiator also from EKWB. They're all thickest they offer. I wanted to make sure I buy fans optimised for radiators and I wanted to make sure they move a lot of air and are proper pressure fans.It was no brainer to get 3000 RPM 120mm Noctua fans.I however asked Noctua if I can use 3x Commander Pro (since my motherboard doesn't have enough fan ports) for 16 of these bad boys.Andreas Karner from Noctua Support Team replied to me the next day. I explained that I am using multiple Commander Pros and wanted to ask if their fans will be compatible as I am planning to buy many of them. They did research, which surprised me. No other company would do that. That's incredible. They explained that Commander Pro takes maximum of 4.5A combined and each Noctua fan will consistently eat only 0.3A per fan header. This means 6x fan headers * 0.3A = 1.8A total! They explained that I could also contact Corsair as it's their product and it would be more to do with their product rather than their Noctua fans.Very understandable and excellent response to my question so I decided to buy 14 of these. All the rads are now taken.Minimum speed allowed with latest Commander Pro with it's firmware updated is 500 RPM. Slight ticking noise, but you need to put your head next to the fan to hear it. Any speed set by Commander Pro these fans will follow.Very loud at 3000 RPM as they're obviously INDUSTRIAL fans, not made for typical home PC. People leaving bad reviews need to understand that these are not advertised for their quietness but excellent performance.110CFM and 7.62H20 of pressure. Compared to Corsair ML120 Pro fans... 4.2H20 of pressure and 75CFM. Huge difference. Price wise, the Noctua fans are only £4-5 more expensive, but you do get an extra year of warranty (TOTAL of 6 YEARS!).Air goes through my thick rads like bullets through paper. The average temperatures on my GPUs and CPU is as follows:After gaming with open window: 1st 2080 Ti topped at 32C, second 2080 Ti topped up at 35C and CPU topped up at 45C. With ML120 Pros it was more like 36-39C on GPUs and 50C on CPU.This overall picture combined together with excellent Amazon support is what makes these fans purchased on Amazon so good.
