This is a VERY well designed product with excellent features that make it snap together neatly. I loved that I could "hide" the round spacer holes on the legs (that make it higher or lower depending on the height of the person using it) by just pointing them towards the BACK wall, so that from the front, there's just smooth white metal showing. Looks cleaner.I'm very tall with really long legs (38" inseam) and I was worried that it wouldn't be high enough for me, but there's a huge range of potential heights, and I didn't even use the last setting!I bought mine because I was having a total knee replacement, and knew I'd have a problem getting down and back up.My 91 year old mom came over and was impressed and so I bought one for her house. She said it was a game changer. She'd had a different type for my dad - the type with the toilet seat, and it was a challenge to clean. Yucky. THIS one, however, easily fits behind the raised lid (and the lid can still go down - no worries). This keeps it much more sanitary, while giving great stability getting up and down.I even packed it in my luggage when flying to visit my grandchildren. They had a TIGHT tiny space and it still fit perfectly and kept me safe during my continued recovery.I would strongly recommend this product.

This goes together remarkably easy. Adjusts to height well. Has clips to easily lock arms in place and is very stable for my 230 pounds weight (was 222 but 2 weeks of little movement thanks to the surgery) I've thought about getting another to use around chairs OUTSIDE of the bathroom. The couch is too low, the recliner is do-able but the height and the awkwardness of sitting on the bed while my wife puts my compression socks and no slips socks on really means kitchen table chair is a comfortable fit BUT has no place to brace on for sitting down or getting up.This makes the awkward footwork of sitting down and getting back up, one legged as the Non bendy, non load bearing surgery leg scoots forward. If you are just slightly week for other issues and need a good brace to get up and down from the toilet this would be a good. Idea.You MIGHT think ahead and get a TP paper roll holder as it makes getting to mine a little awkward. I also have a bidet with electronic controls on the side. Doesn't interfere with it's operation BUT the lower bar makes hitting the buttons a bit of a pain. IF you go for THAT upgrade as well, consider a bidet with a wireless remote.

With any safety equipment for home use, it must be easy to assemble, stable and sturdy...or it just won't serve its purpose well. This toilet safety rail is pretty good, but I couldn't give it five stars because the design for sturdiness is not quite top notch. This is fine for my mom to use because the force or pressure she puts on the rails isn't enough to put a strain on the product. However, there is some give outward on the frame arms and so anyone needing to apply a lot of force to support yourself sitting down and getting up from the toilet, should look for a heavy duty product. There is just no way to tighten the rails/arms of this product so that it could be stiff, like on a walker frame. Nevertheless, the padded arms, adjustable height and fit over the toilet is great...and most importantly, it serves its purpose well for my mom.

I bought this for my senior mom, she's been told she needs hip replacement and they're talking about in the next 2 months. She's already having problem with getting up and down from the commode and from just regular chairs. I picked this one because it said it can be used in multiple rooms and is easily-portable. I only have minimal testing of it so far. She used it to get up from the couch but maybe I can tell you a little bit about it.The assembly is minor and it's easy to assemble. The top part of it (handles, crossbars) is very well made and sturdy. All you have to do on the assembly of it is install 4 e-clips that comes with it. You just push them in the four holes. Those are for making it possible to fold it up. They lock it from folding up. You have to pop all four back out to fold it up. It takes 2-3 seconds on each. You then install the four legs and they each require a wingnut, bolt and a (my word) exploded metal washer. Exploded washer is my way of saying they mold into the metal. They don't exactly look right but they work very well. All of this is easy to do. Once that's done, you can push the metal catch on each leg and slide the height of the leg(s) to your desired height.I couldn't have built it better myself. Very good design, I did notice the front legs came up a bit when my mom first tried to get up from the couch. But she was grabbing the portion of the handles that was closest to her instead of grabbing the middle. That's just basic physics. I would recommend working with it for maybe 10 minutes just to get used to it. Have someone stand with you and make sure you're confident in it. I weigh 240 and was showing mom how to use it, it wasn't tipping with me at all.I will come back and post some results after mom has some time to use it and see how she likes it. As of right now, the quality and feel of it excellent, especially for the price. We looked at similar at one of home medical supply stores and it was about twenty-five dollars more than this one and didn't fold up. Excellent product, so far.
