I am VERY happy with this purchase. Let's start there. I have wanted one of these gobo-projectors for YEARS for my Bowens strobe units, but I could never justify the expense versus just using flags and foamcore cutouts to get the same effect.This FOMITO branded item is labeled a "snoot," and it can serve as one, but that's only a secondary use. The top-line feature is a focusing projector lens, that allows you to load one of the SIXTEEN included gobos, and to project patterned light onto your subject or background.The quality is quite good, particularly for the price. It comes with a Bowens mount, but it should be compatible with any 152mm adapter plate for other lighting mounts.I tested this with a Godox SL60II-bi LED fixture. At 100% output, the heat was not excessive, and the brightness of output was certainly acceptable.I would say that the focal length is just fine for most shooting scenarios, that is, the distance you need to be from the projection surface. At around six feet the "venetian blinds" gobo was a little small. You'd need a bit more distance to accurately "knock off" the look of a window.The gobos themselves are 2-1/4" by 3-1/8", and are of excellent quality. They slide into the little round mount which in turn slides into slots in the projector unit. All very self-explanatory. You will likely need to rotate both the gobo-holder AND the rear Bowens-mount in some cases, in order to align the image to your subject.There are NO negatives so far as I can see. For the price-point, the build quality is heavier than I had anticipated, and the moment I fired it up I was genuinely excited to start working it into both video and stills.I did NOT test with my strobes, which have incandescent modeling lights. I anticipate that this unit would get EXTREMELY HOT with those, and while it is designed to vent away much of that heat, I would plan to use the modeling lights only to get the initial setup accomplished, then turn them off.There is some light leakage in the area where the gobo-holder goes into the unit. That would certainly be expected. Some black-wrap would be the obvious solution for that. I'd avoid gaff tape, even with LED fixtures and certainly with strobes that have incandescent modeling lights--I think you'll end up with a sticky mess. And on some shoots the leakage might not be critical at all. I just wanted to make you aware of that, so you can plan for mitigating it where it might be problematic. No biggie to solve.I cannot see a single reason why this isn't a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED purchase, and I don't say that often or lightly. FIVE STARS!!!!

Fits perfectly, small, works great. It is really, really well made, equal to the Wescott. I do wish it had interchangeable lenses or an ef mount.It also takes weird sized gobos and i couldn’t find the ones i needed in this size. 60mm so the common round 66mm ones won’t fit.If you have einsteins/alienbees/Balcar just remove the speedring and it fits directly on the light!

Review for: "Projection with Lens, 16pcs GOBO Set, Bowens Mount for Monolight Photography LED Light, Studio Flash"This is Optical snoot (meaning it has lens to focus the light) more useful for special effect with GOBO attachment.It reduced the light intensity a lot, therefore I need to use at least 200 watts LED light to use it as creative light using provided 16 pcs metal GOBO with different creative motive.It also having 8 color GEL filter, but for modern LED COB light that have RGB, it is not really useful. But at least there is an option when we need it.Build quality is good, mostly made of solid metal. The build-in Bowen mount make it easy for me, as I mainly use Bowen mount for most my lighting equipment. It seems to have good heat dissipation, which is very important especially using high power of LED (at least 200 watts or more).Installation and deployment is very easy, just insert the GOBO sheet inside the metal holder and insert it. Then adjust the focus ring until it reach sharpest image.Without GOBO it can also be used as snoot light for different effect.For the asking price ($169.99) it is a good value for optical snoot with 16 pcs metal GOBO set.
