The switch with this stand kit is need to manual controls the light, open or close need to be manually operated. We have recently put on a few products are touch switches, you can go to our store to find the new products page can be purchased.

Q: The instructions say to use alcohol glue. Can anyone give me a recommendation for a good alcohol glue? I am not familiar with different glues.

I don't know anything about alcohol glue. It may be something used in China that's similar to the clear tube-type glue we have here in the U.S. that will make you light headed if you breathe too much of it. (The kind used for the plastic model kits). I've built 8 of these Book Nooks and have used Elmer's white glue for all of them. They tuned out beautifully. Just don't overdo the glue.
