Dap 12345 drydex spackle; 1/2pt wall patch kt

I’m moving in a month and need to patch some holes in my walls. I ordered this kit because it had everything I would need for the job, was familiar with this spackle, and thought that the color changing would be useful. Although it did get the job done, half of the time I needed to press the spackle onto the wall hard with my fingers to make it stick - the putty knife alone was not enough. I didn’t have any issues with the spackle being too dry like other reviewers. After the spackle dried and turned white, I was able to sand it and paint over it.

The 30-minute-dry-time thing is probably the biggest lie I've ever heard from any product, at least if you're filling anything bigger than a pin size hole. For me it was barely dry after 3 hours. I let it dry overnight just to be sure.But the results were worth the wait. This kit has everything you need and clear instructions. It was very easy to figure out. The hardest part of patching the hole in my wall was probably digging out the paint leftover from when I moved in to paint the patch. If you get really close and know what you're looking for you might be able to slightly see the square patch covering the hole but it's really not noticeable at all.

I like the "pink dries white " feature. I really like the fact that the container can be easily resealed to store the leftover spackle. I have bought dozens of pounds of spackle for small jobs and then had to throw away the leftovers. The resealable container is a great feature.

For what it is, this kit will work great for small holes roughly 3/4 the size of the patch and smaller. The hole I had to patch up was just barely the same size as the patch. In order to have a smooth appearance, you have to apply thick amounts of the speckle. However, as the speckle dried cracks started to appear at the center, carefully applying light pressure to smooth them out periodically kept it from being undone but you can still see hairline cracks (see picture).My kit was opened upon arrival and the putty knife was missing, which wasn't a big deal as you can use any flat surface with the same flexibility. I would recommend painting right after sanding as leaving it as is could cause deterioration, especially in humid climates.

I used this kit to patch a hole in drywall. It was so nice to have everything in one place. It was one of the few times I did not have to return to the hardware store for another item. I do need to learn to apply the putty in a thinner layer.

This had semi bad reviews because parts were missing in some peoples packages but I had a great experience with this. Every part was there, it made repairing a hole so easy (door swung open too hard and put a hole in the wall) It comes with everything you need, it is purple but dries an off white color. That was a great feature of this product because I knew when it was fully dry! It also comes with sandpaper to smooth it over. I definitely recommend this for anyone! It's simple, so if you have never repaired a hole you won't have a problem doing so with this kit.

I had a 3 inch size hole in my wall I wanted to get fixed and got this Dap 12345 drydex spackle wall patch kit here to take care of that hole in my wall. Pretty easy to use and I was able to cut the steel mesh backing before placing it on the wall. After putting 2 layers of spackle over the steel mesh [allowing each layer of spackle to dry before putting the second layer on the area], I was able to sand it down so I can paint over it to match the rest of the wall. Very easy to use and worth the price I got it here. 5 stars for this product since simply I could not find anything wrong with it.

This product fixed a large hole from a doorknob. You can't even tell there was a hole there. This plaster/spackle is easy to apply. It goes on purple and dries white. I will use this again if I need to fix a hole in my wall.

Item arrived in time. Did the job perfectly. Would definitely recommend it.
