Works Good So Far
This is the second Onkyo receiver I have purchased. The first one was an older model that finally stopped working after 13 years. This is a very good upgrade. I didn't buy new speakers with this and the speakers I am using now are a lot older. The sound is still great and the only "issues" I ever have with sound is usually watching something that was recorded with low quality or bad mixing.I have noticed that while playing games on the PS5 I have to have the audio mode set to "All Channel Stereo" for it to sound right. If I put it on Dolby 5.1 then on most games I am unable to hear all the audio, like a channel is being lost. This is possibly because of my older speakers and I am looking to replace them.

Full featured Dolby Atmos capabilities
I'm very happy with this unit. I bought it to replace an older Onkyo, amp, that was only able to handle two Dolby Atmos speakers, whereas this unit can handle four since I upgraded my man cave system.Because it was the same brand rewiring, for the new unit, was a piece of cake, like for like connectors, just more of them, lol.

Grab your popcorn...
For the price, this is a wonderful receiver. I haven't had a single problem since purchase. It is paired with the Bose AM15 pro II speaker system and to sony atmos speakers. Honestly I am not sure the atmos speakers do much good, but I also haven't tried tuning it, other than with the automated system. I would recommend this to anyone looking to upgrade old gear. It sounds MUCH better than the previous Pioneer I had.

UPDATE: It's junk. Absolute garabage.
I'm not sure what I think about this thing. It was easy to install and seed awesome right out of the gate. But then I started having problems. Enough problems I almost returned this. TV would flicker. Casting was terribly unreliable. It was glitchy. In a last ditch effort before I returned it (because i threw away the packaging) I tried a few things and it's been perfect since! The receiver is hooked to a samsung tv. I replaced my 4k hdmi cable with a 8k hdmi cable to the TV. And I unlinked my Smart things samsung app and Google home app I was using to control the tv. I'm not sure what the problem was but those 2 things fixed it. I think that the samsung tv it was hooked to was conflicting when I linked it to my Google home app. So now we just use smart things for the TV app stuff.UPDATE: It's junk. I replaced it with a Denon that has been perfect. So after seeming to operate correctly this thing got worse. It just plain disappeard from our casting options. Every time I turned the TV off then back on, I had to unplug the HDMI cable and plug it back in to get the sound to work. Just absolutel crap. PASS PASS PASS On this thing. It seriously gave me more problems than anything else in my entire new home. And of course I threw away all the orignal packaging that came with it. Imagine saving every bit of packing when you built a new home! So of course I can't return it to Amazon. I may have some fun at Onkyo's expense by seeing if they will manufacturer warranty it. But who can wait for that massive amount of time and hassle... so I was pretty much forced to buy a different model. Now this Onkyo piece of crap is just filling up space and I can't bring myself to throw it away. BUY THE DENON!!!

Great receiver, I just replaced an older version of Onkyo to get the network and Bluetooth options
Great receiver, I just replaced an older version of Onkyo receiver to get the network and Bluetooth options. The best thing that I noticed is that this unit have a better sound quality and operates much cooler that the old Onkyo.

made in USA
this is an awsome reciever! the big reason behind this purchase, was because it has inputs for phono. It has that and more than I expected. I have never heard of a smart reciever.WI-FI,Blutooth,Has several Music apps,DEEZER, Spotify,Amazon music, and more. IT Has A main amp, and A second amp for auxliary speakers. if you have a Zip drive (USB)loaded with music it will play it. downd load their app and controll the unt from your phone. And bigest reason, Onkyo "USA"
