The media could not be loaded. This car comes ready to go right out the box I got the blue one by the way and I'm feeling it this car is so much fun an for under two hundred bux its a steal. The quality is excellent the car and the mechanics are proper and it runs very smooth. Its a drift car so its not necessarily fast but thats okay your drifting with it not participating in a traditional race. Redcat has one thats a competition level car for another two hundred bux but I'm not competing with anyone so this one is just fine for someone like me. I'm still learning how to drift and this seems to be the right car for that. A painted surface seems to be a good surface to run the car on with drift wheels it should'n't wear them down too quickly and R/C is a good company so replacement parts are a sinch to get if needed.

I really like that this is a great low-cost RC drift car for the money. It is easy for a beginner to drift this car once you get the concept of how to drift an RC car. The suspension arms, etc. are plastic but Redcat does make an aluminum parts hop up kit which even though I haven't yet, I would highly recommend getting as the plastic will eventually wear out and the plastic body posts it comes with for securing the body are a bit flimsy. It is basically a clone platform to the more expensive Team Associated TC line of drift RC cars except for having a slightly shorter frame from the research I have done about this car and people have even used Team Associated parts on it to get it into the sanctioned custom drift events as their rules state Team Associated parts must be used in the custom build. I gave it a 5 star overall review because it does drift well on asphalt stock for the price. I would go with softer rubber treaded drift tires as the harder tires it comes with are a bit too slick for perfectly controlled drifts as the motor has pretty good power. When it goes off into the grass, I have to help it out because the hard tires barely have any grip. However, when I keep tight, quick steering and accelerating intervals, it can be drifting magic.

This thing is a blast to play with. Battery lasts for a good amount of time and when you take the drift tires off and put the rubber tires on, its actually a pretty quick little car! Fun for beginners or even experienced RC car owners in my opinion.

Loved the ship time, got to me way before Amazon predicted. Pretty much ready to go out of the box, just had to add batteries to the remote and charge the battery it came with. Right out of the box it handled amazing. I recommend a couple different sets of tires so you can drive on different surfaces, but the tires it came with work pretty well. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another one or recommend this car, especially since it’s a good value for the price it is. I do recommend buying a tool for the wheel bolts when you order this car though, as it doesn’t come with it.

My package arrived quickly and on time, the box had seals on it, but it looked like the car had already been used as the zip ties had been cut off and the body had marks and a dent, plus the battery was already charged which was weird. On the first run it was very disappointing as the esc went straight into a limp mode and the car would only go at about walking pace! I tried again and this time the top speed was only maybe 20mph which is pretty slow for this type of rc car. I don't feel like this car is a good entry level car as there is way too much to adjust on the car out of the box, Redcat do a poor job of getting the car ready for you, I've been into rc for a few years now so have toe and camber tools, but someone just getting into rc are not going to have these tools, on my car toe and camber were not set correctly and the car in general doesn't feel well put together, the body on my car has been poorly trimmed and the servo is making a weird noise straight out of the box, Redcat do not even supply a wheel hex tool which for an entry level car is mean, the manual is very sparse too with no info on the actual specs of the car, I had to hunt to find out what the gear sizes are. It would have been a nice touch if they had included extra decals and foam washers for the body and a couple of e clips. When buying this car you need to factor in the extra cost of tools and batteries and wheels and upgrades you will need because it will take you close to a decent kit from Traxxas or Kyosho which are better made and feel special out of the box, I feel Redcat need to up there game and I would not recommend this rc car.

Ordered this RC car for my 11yr olds birthday. One week later....I ordered another for myself. I admit I'm just a kid in a 41yr old body. Order a set of rubber tires w/ wheels and you have the best of both worlds. Grip and Slideways. I also recommend ordering a Dynamite Prophet Sport charger, 2 AWANFI 7.2V 3600mAh RC Batteries, Gens ace 2 Pairs Male Tamiya to Female Banana 4.0mm Adapters, and Integy RC Model Hop-ups C24402 EC3 Female-to-Tamiya Type Male Connector Adapter Wire Harness. With all of that we just rotate the batteries charging and have hours of fun.Update a few days later...make sure the pinion and ring gear are adjusted and meshing properly (use a strip of notebook paper for a gauge).. Luckily we caught it slipping early and adjusted before stripping the ring gear. Still give it 5 stars because we are having so much fun with these.

Great product. Well built. Fast and controls well. Definitely recommend for price and quality.
