Q: is this suitable as a cooling pad for asus rog strix g513qr laptop ie air vents thanks

Based on the images I could find of your laptop, this cooling pad may work for you. From what I could see your laptop has four heat exhaust vents(I’m assuming it has fans underneath that draw in the cool air). The side exhaust vents won’t be an issue, it’s the rear ones you need to consider. Because the cooler’s intake vents are in the back, they would be directly below your laptop’s rear exhaust vents. Now the cooler does provide a pair of attachable covers to provide a barrier between the hot air exiting the back of your laptop and the fresh air being drawn into the cooler. If you do not attach those covers you run into the issue of recycling your hot exhaust back into the cooler. The only issue I have at all is with the rubber air seal. I feel that it doesn’t hold its form as well as it could which means some gaps in the air seal equaling less efficiency. All that aside I’m fairly happy with the product as I have struggled previously to find a sturdy and effective cooler. If you’re comfortable with the price it’s the best I’ve owned to date so far.
