Elixir is a high energy dance band that combines driving fiddle and guitar playing, and the rich texture and rhythmic excitement of a full horn section. Elixir performs tightly crafted music drawing on a wide range of styles and evoking a variety of moods. Elegant melodies evolve into raucous dixieland horn riffs; transcendent harmonies, playful improvisations, and rock, swing and reggae-inspired rhythms weave in and out of traditional and original Irish, French Canadian and New England tunes. Elixir is: Nils Fredland, trombone / vocals Ethan Hazzard-Watkins, fiddle / vocals Jesse Hazzard-Watkins, trumpet / vocals Anna Patton, clarinet / vocals Owen Morrison, guitar / foot percussion On the band's debut CD, Elixir has distilled it's powerful dance groove into a highly listenable format. Combining the raw energy of a honkin' horn section with some slick fiddling and absolutely awesome guitar licks, they've brewed a musical tincture they call Super Tonic. You'll hear some favorite dance tunes, a couple of waltzes, a tango, and a few other surprises. The band is joined by Will Patton on bass and mandolin, and Deb Patton on vocals and shaker.

Fun and good feeling/ energy.
Great variety and mix of songs on this album (slow/fast/instrumental/vocals). Nicely recorded. LIke the mellow mix of instruments - fiddle, horn, guitar. This group is great to hear live.

Awesome music
I recently participated in an event where these musicians performed and was awed by the talent and passion they bring to their craft. This C.D. is amazing, and one that I'm finding I go back to again and again as I'm listening to music. It's sharp, crisp, tight, and invigorating to listen to!
