This works on laundry mistakes!!! It’s magical!
I was skeptical but IT WORKED!! Daughter washed a red item with all of her white clothes which ALL became pink. I followed the stove top directions and put the pink clothes inside the pot and almost instantaneously they turned back to white. It simply lifted the pink color right off. It was almost magical. I highly highly highly recommend this if you’ve made a similar mistake.Be sure to keep the windows open and have good ventilation as it has a strong smell.

Red sweater enemy defeated
This works perfectly, but it smells terrible so don't use it on a day you're going to have company over. Don't do the washing machine method, only stovetop works.

This product is designed to remove ALL color from a clothing article, not just stains
If you are hoping this product will remove denim or other dark color dye from a colored item, DON'T BUY THIS. Only buy if the item you're cleaning is completely white. I didn't learn my lesson the hard way, but I also didn't read the instructions on the back pictured in this listing until after I purchased it (I instead read reviews and thought I was taking a chance).I washed my absolute favorite bright hot pink crewneck the other day accidentally with a pair of jeans. I ALWAYS put Shout sheets in my laundry loads (just in case! these work so great to capture leaking color dye so it doesn't get into your clothes!) BUT it was a very large load and this was the first time the sheet didn't prevent dye transfer. My crewneck was suddenly spotted with dark denim dye transfer.I THOUGHT this product had the intent of removing dye transfer. It DOES, but it also removes ALL color. If you read the back of the box carefully, you will learn this. After looking online, this product was designed to remove ALL color and dye from a clothing article, in order to re-dye it a different color or apply tie dye. RIT even sells color dyes for this purpose. If you wash anything with any kind of color on it, it will be removed or forever changed.P.S. if you plan to use in your washing machine, one small load will require both of the packets this purchase comes with.

It did nothing.
I followed the instructions for the stove top method and it did absolutely nothing. It said that after 20 minutes or so the color should be gone or at least faded. The material I tried to remove the color looks as bright as if it came out of the factory.I don’t know what you should get to get the job done, but this is not it.

RIT 4 Life!
Rit, I'm a believer! I had a brand new white puffer jacket (bagged) and sitting in my car when my toddler decided to pull it out and dump red kool-aid all over it. I of course didn't notice until we had arrived home and it was entirely saturated with kool-aid and dyed pink. I had intended to return this puffer ($80) for a smaller size but now was facing needing to throw it in the trash can due to it being ruined. Insert tears... As soon as I got home, I laundered the puffer on cold to see how much I could remove from a normal wash cycle. The answer: not much. I refused to dry the jacket, and put it in a sink to soak with oxiclean and some bleach where I scrubbed and soaked it for 2 days. Very little to no improvement. I was 2 minutes away from throwing it in the trash can before my M-I-L came over and said that I should try a color remover, like Rit. I told her there was no way it could pull the stain, but proceeded to search amazon and came upon a lovely video of a lady boiling her garments and turning them white again. For $7 it was worth a shot. Amazon overnighter this product and I followed the instructions and boiled water over the stove, adding the Rit solution and garment into the pot and stirring for about 20 minutes. After 5-10 minutes I could see the stains were lightening and by 20 minutes. Voila. Gone and absolutely zero signs that a stain ever was there. Like magic! I'm so thrilled. Will definitely be keeping a Rit stash on hand from here on out. Thanks so much for those who posted reviews and for the lady with the video that gave me hope that I could remove my garment stain as well.
