Works great
UPDATE 12/8/21: The best $350 I've ever spent. Kept us cool and refreshed the entire sweltering summer. Here are some tips: it starts to lose its cooling ability if the filters get dirty, which can happen with a pet in the house every two weeks. There are three filters: one is just the back cover at the top (that is the filter: the cover itself), and there are two down at the bottom, one at the back and one on the side. Just give those a rinse every couple of weeks and the cooling will be restored. Also, I don't live in a terribly humid climate, so every month or so I just put a towel under the spigot at the bottom center in the back and open it, tip the unit this way and that and drain the little bit of water that has collected onto a towel. I didn't need to use the hose provided (and there wasn't enough water to defeat the gravity needed to get the water to come out using the hose). Those are just some tips, but this unit is AMAZING. I'm so, so pleased I bought it.I live in San Diego and my apartment has no central A/C. So when it gets hot here, and it does get very hot here, we fry. I have one window A/C from about 1978 that cools the living room, but that's it. My black lab and I can't sleep at night because the cold air from the living room doesn't make it to the bedroom.Enter this "Midea MAP10S1CWT 3-in-1 Portable Air Conditioner, Dehumidifier, Fan, for Rooms up to 200 sq ft." I installed it by myself. It was harder to think about installing it than it was to just do it. I didn't even need a screwdriver. I have a thin window that slides from right to left (rather than up and down) but that wasn't a problem at all: the provided boards slide up to fill the space. The hose snapped into the hole in the bottom board the first time. Turned it on, it worked. I didn't even read the instructions for running it, I just figured it out. As things come up that I wonder about, I look at the instructions. For people talking about having to empty the water: THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM. Maybe they're talking about when using it as a dehumidifier? I mean, obviously, if the water is coming out of the air, it has to go somewhere. Now, there IS a degree of dehumidifying going on with the cooling function, just like with ALL A/Cs, that's not unique to this one; with window A/Cs you just don't realize it's happening because the water that comes out of the air with the cooling function drips down outside out of sight out of mind. So with this, every few weeks you need to unscrew the cap at the bottom of the unit in the back, pull out the rubber stopper, and let an ounce of water come out.At first I hooked the provided hose up to the spout and put it into a bucket, but there wasn't enough water to defeat the gravity and it wouldn't go up the hose. So I just put an old towel under the spout, took the hose off, and let it drip about an ounce of water onto the old towel. I tipped it this way and that to get the last of it, put the rubber stopper back in, screwed the cap on, and boom it was done. This is NOT a big deal so stop complaining. Okay so if you live in Florida, or Missouri, I could see the air having more water in it and the A/C working harder to cool your room by removing moisture from the air, and there might be more water involved, so maybe you have to empty it once a week for five minutes. But still, if you're not going to get a window unit, where exactly are you expecting the water to go that the unit is removing from the air? It has to go somewhere. As for noise: have you heard a window A/C? This is not any different, and is actually a bit quieter. I love the sound of fans. If you don't, you might not like it.My dog is very happy because he gets hot with his black fur coat on. This unit makes the room so cold at night I have to sleep with a hot water bottle, because my dog likes it really cold in his bed on the floor. And since he's spoiled and I'm his servant, 62 degrees it is.Bottom line: completely happy, sleeping like a baby in an ice cold bedroom (feels like a hotel), and my dog says ruff ruff ruff 10/10.

Great Packaging and Super Easy Install
Okay, lets start by saying I'm 67 with not the best back in the world, but I can do most things. I removed the two straps around the box and cut the top open and removed all the extras from the top and then figured I'd have to cut the box apart because there's no way I could lift it out. Silly me, that's when I discovered the box is two pieces. Once the straps are removed the top of the box is separate from the base and just lifts off. Best package ever. I was able to lift it off the base and begin installation. I bought this for a separate 10 x 12 shed in my backyard, that was intended for crafts and storage. The windows are very small double hung. While the shed is insulated and has a ceiling fan, in Florida so A/C is a must. I confess the size of the window piece seemed about right, but I didn't go out and measure it because I knew I could jury rig something if it was a little wide. It fits perfectly with one slider, but it will fit a much larger window since it comes with three expansion pieces. Fitting the pieces together was super easy. No tools required. Plugged it in and it instantly started cooling the room down. Very pleased with this purchase. It is also a smart appliance, not sure my wifi will reach out there but if you have it where you can access the internet you can control it from your phone.

AWESOME PORTABLE AC
So far after using for about a month I've fell in love with it. I have not needed to drain the unit yet, even if I'm in Alabama. My ac went out and I'm using this in my bedroom at night and during the day in my office. Within about 30 minutes you have an ice cold room. For those reviews about noise issues. I don't have any issues on the phone nor sleeping with it. I don't even use the sleep mode. I'm a light sleeper as well.Downfall and reason why I went with 4 stars... The physical remote does not sync like it should no matter if you remove the batteries and replace it. You have a 50/50 chance of syncing the unit with the correct temp on the remote. I'm very unhappy about that since it is a must in my office at times. The app on the phone works great and I love that feature. However Alexa is very glitchy... The main glitch is an important point as well. She will only go so far down in temp and then say you cannot go to 62°, the unit will go to 62° on the remote, unit itself and phone app but Alexa doesn't allow for it. However it is nice to generally control the unit with Alexa and ask for the actual room temp.Window install was less than 3 minutes. Filter cleaning is easy in your sink. Portability from rolling from one room to another cannot be any easier although the unit is heavy. The fan blades that move up and down are very helpful to cook the room very fast. The drain I've yet to deal with since it's not full after a month.Beautiful unit that goes with your decor and not bad looking for what it is. Since my main unit is out in saving up to buy a heat pump and this really has been a lifesaver. I should buy another unit and be done with high ac bills in the summer heat.If you are looking at all the portable units and trying to decide, just get this one. I did the same and I'm very impressed with it plus the warranty and extended warranty I bought for 4 years. If your home is automated with Alexa you'll enjoy controlling it via the app so whenever you get home you have a cool room. Worth every penny and I'm very happy with my decision on this one, with the exception of the remote.
