My Older Oximeter that Recently Died
The media could not be loaded. UPDATE: I gave it another week and gave up, BUT I reordered another one and got it yesterday. I was VERY pleasantly surprised that it immediately responded and gave me a reading without a long wait. PLUS, the reading was accurate! So, the replacement I've gotten is as good as my dead one, so it appears that the other one I got was defective. Of course I've only had it a little over a day, but it's giving me accurate readings from both hands. It's not PERFECT, but it's consistently giving me accurate readings ...so far. I have really bad COPD and I take my oximeter readings every day and usually several times a day. I like to check and see how my oxygen levels are before and after activities, plus when the weather gets hot and humid making me have "bad air days," so I like to see both my oxygen level and my heart rate. It helps to guide me in whether I'm needing an oxygen boost or not. I don't know why they manufacture and sell an oximeter if it's not designed for medical purposes? I'm not expecting hospital grade quality, but I do expect accuracy!Anyway, I'm glad that I decided to give this another try. It is a good quality product. I hope this one lasts me for three years like the previous one!The 5 stars are for my older oximeter that lasted @3 years. BUT, the same identical oximeter that I got last week gets 1-2 Stars. My video here is showing what happens to my very frequently used 3yo oximeter when it is ready for retirement. I tried different types of new batteries, but each time it comes on, but doesn't do a reading and just turns itself off. This WAS a very good oximeter. It gave me timely accurate readings!I ordered another identical oximeter from Amazon and got it last week. I read the 1-2 star Amazon reviews prior to ordering and it appears that the 1-2 stars are definitely correct about the decline in this product. The housing is almost identical, but I noticed either a flaw or bad quality control in the battery housing being a bit "off." The batteries took a bit more effort to install, plus the cover didn't want to go back on properly. The center between the two batteries is now grey where my older device it is white. So, due to this neutral grey change between the batteries, it seems to me that there has probably been changes to the electronics inside to properly accommodate the newer housing. As a result, the product is no longer reading in a timely manner nor is it very accurate.I've attempted to use it several times every day and see if it just needs to break in. It was taking more than 30 seconds to finally display the numbers. Next...The numbers are really wonky. My normal oxygen usually reads 96-97. This is giving me readings at 95 and downwards. Yes, I'm very aware that the oxygen readings can be different from your physical activities and the heart rate reading will reflect the change as well. But this just isn't giving me consistent readings and is VERY slow to respond.I'm going to give it another week to try to break it in, but I don't think it's going to make any difference. Perhaps this is one unit that got missed by quality control and just defective, but reading the current reviews, I don't think so. I think that these are being mass produced without any quality controls whatsoever. It's really a shame because it was a very good product. It's even rated as first pick of ten on a Google review website.I'll return to update it after I have assessed it more this next week and if I will have to return it. In the meantime, I wouldn't recommend anyone buying this oximeter. I hope I will be able to exchange for another one to try and hope it's a good working copy.As it currently stands, this isn't worth anything near the $20 USD. It's more expensive than others and better quality housing than many I've seen, but I wouldn't spend $10 USD for the unit with what it is today.I believe in giving a previously good product a fair chance and that's my plan with this product. If the replacement does the same thing or similar, I'll definitely not give them another chance.Oh yes, I have another oximeter that I got through the senior plan and it's a Medline brand. The designed housing is a total nightmare (plus it's ORANGE)... it's upside down on your finger so you have to turn your hand around to read it, plus the oxygen read is on the bottom part of the display. Putting the batteries in and out takes a good set of skills. And it's VERY inaccurate. BUT, it is fast for the display. Avoid the Medline orange oximeter! It's not worth the batteries!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “Accurate Readings, Easy to Use, and Reliable When It Counts”
I bought this to keep track of my oxygen levels and heart rate during workouts and when I wasn’t feeling well—and it’s been spot on every time. The readings show up within seconds and match up closely with what my doctor’s office equipment shows. It’s super simple to use: just clip it on your finger and hit the button. The screen is bright and easy to read, even in low light. I like that it shows both oxygen saturation and pulse at the same time, which makes it quick to check and move on.Battery life has been great, and the auto shut-off helps save power if you forget to turn it off (which I do often). It’s also small enough to toss in a gym bag or backpack, which is a bonus.✅ Bottom Line:If you’re looking for something dependable to monitor your oxygen or heart rate, this does the job without any hassle. Peace of mind in a tiny package.

Didnt work, it was garbage!
Junk! Removed the back to insert batteries then it took a horrendous effort and days of trying to replace the back piece. Then it worked once in a while but mostly didnt work. Then i ended up in the hospital with respiratory failure & pneumonia in both lungs. Was dischargwd a week later with oxyen. I started a return and was directed to take it to UPS which I couldn't do as I was still too sick. Still not taking myself anyplace as I cant roll my oxygen cart and use my walker at the same time. I have to ask friends or family to take me to dr appointments. But I'm not going to call someone to drive my junk pulseoximeter return to a UPS Store. Im hoping to improve enough very soon and get rid of the oxygen. Before ending up in the hospital I did buy a different one from the Kaiser medical clinic pharmacy and it never worked at all! Both junk pulseoximeters were made in China! The one from Kaiser was a final sale. So over a 2 week period I spent well over $50 between the 2 of them and ended up with nothing but trash! Oh, and a week In the hospital. Dont waste your money!
