IT DEAD ASS WORKS!
The media could not be loaded. I connect this thru the 3.5 mm jack on the back of my Altec Lansing 80 watt speaker. You do have to change yhe Optical to PCM. Takes a little toggling but it works. Optical cord is cheap but connection is tight. Make sure you have 3.5 mm to 3.5 mm cord, unless you have rca connects. I already had the 3.5 mm cord.Plug in to power. No need for switch. Just comes on when you ug it in. Will need a usb power box for the wall. Other than that... FINALLY! Scarey movie season arlund the corner

It didn't work.
I bought this adapter to convert the optical audio output from my TV to a sound system with RCA analog inputs. All I could get out it was a "chugging motorboat" sound. Checked to make sure the TV was configured for digital audio out. Tried different optical and RCA cables. No luck. I bought a Prozor converter and it worked on first hook up.

Great sounding converter
This is a great sounding optical to analog audio RCA converter. I hooked it up to my Technics CD Changer with optical output and it sounds better; highs are crisper, lows are deeper. I have also used it to convert my Samsung HD TV's optical output to my Sony Receiver and it sounds good there as well. Not much money and big performance. Glad I got it and happy.

Know what you’re hooking it to
While it worked fine when connected to another television but it did not work with the television that I wanted to use it with. Does Amazon sell a device that tests the digital output of a device?

Works as designed but could use longer cord
Comes with a very short cord for the 5V power supply, so either very long optical/composite cords must be used or a longer power cord must be made.

Disappointed
Adapter did not work at all with my older Stennheiser 170 headphones being connected to a newer smart TV. May work fine on newer analog devices. Product was received promptly and in good condition. Would deal with seller again.
