Q: I want to use this for a veo sports camera. How do you secure it in wind?

The legs are very wide. I usually use nothing to secure but if its a really windy day, i use big sand bags so secure. I use it for my veo camera for almost a year. I hope this helps.

Q: Is there a way to swivel it to follow the ball at a soccer game?

I bought mine specifically to film soccer games. The trypod stand is excelent quality yet no made for smooth swivel. What I did is I bought a Zifon YT-3000 remote control panoramic electric pan tilt device that I attach to the top of the tripod. It works great. I control pan and tilt remotely and I use the video cameras wireless remote to control zoom. I installed a 25ft HDMI cable from the camera to a small video screen I attached to the tripod. I spent about $1,000 for everything.

Q: How much weight will tripod hold at full height? Will it hold a gimbal and camera?

Not sure exact weight. I mounted a video camera on it no problem. It is pretty sturdy and if the gimbal were not overly cumbersome - I don't see it would be an issue

For sure he’s taller than me because I’m 5.1
