Even broken in half, these pills never seem to want to go down right. They're large and when they get wet, they're a little tacky, meaning they stick in my throat. You have to wash them down well. That said, I feel they did improve the quality of my sleep and I'm not having such anxious episodes. They also keep me pretty regular-- added bonus. All that said, I can't take it at the recommended dose because it does hurt my stomach. I must take it with food which causes a little bloating most days. So, I feel I'm JUST about there with my supplement. I might need to shop around just a little more.

I was having issues waking up at 2-3 am and not being able to fall back asleep. I take this right when I am going to bed and it works! It did give me some weird/vivid dreams though.

I have used Magnesium for years and for many reasons. As many brands as there are, I have settled on Smarter Nutrition to be my brand of choice, the best and to be economical, too. It is also made in the USA. Read on ...I use Magnesium for a restful night’s sleep and to prevent muscle spasms, taking it with my bone nutrient in the morning and again at night before bed. Overall, I do my homework when it comes to nutrients. I feel it boosts my energy in the morning, reduces stomach acid for more alkalinity, yet taken at night, after a long tiring day, it relaxes me, reduces anxiety, and continues to help level my alkaline. I can attest and relate to that differentiation, as I take herbs that work in the body, one way in the morning after waking, yet differently before bed, when the body is ready to rest (one is the herb Ashwaganda). Magnesium also boosts the immune system, helps with muscles, cardiac health and brain function. Our bodies need oxygen, but we need good minerals and nutrients too. Magnesium is one of them. Also, I like the added Panax Notoginseng in this supplement and feel it can help to stabilize our blood pressure.Actually, I never have headaches, anymore that is; and and it could be my continued use of Magnesium. You see, back 22 years ago, I was rear-ended in a car accident, had a bad whiplash and got migraines to the point I was hospitalized 3 times. Seeking a good chiropractor, in his care for a year, I was directed to add a Magnesium supplement to my regular vitamins (I feel multi-vitamins have a daily requirement dose, for most; but sometimes a person needs more of particular nutrients, as we are all a little different). In the beginning, the Magnesium supplement didn’t seem to work real fast on my bad headaches, but I never gave up, because it sure did eventually. My chiropractor was right. So I have never stopped using my Magnesium. And, today, I can say, I have never ever had a bad headache like those again. I virtually cannot remember my last headache at all.I hope this information helps those who read this. This pregnancy has brought a lot of trouble with sleeping (new issue for me - 8th baby) and regular restless leg trouble, and though I still get RL, after taking this for 4 wks, it's very rare (there were periods where it was nightly) and it's never while I'm settling to go to sleep now so that's wonderful. I'm definitely sleeping soundly now and have FAR less headaches and no migraines as well - which had also become a real problem this pregnancy. Sleep quality has obviously improved.The difficulty in assessing this product's effectiveness is in my simultaneously using a Mg lotion, both started within days of one another.It's hard to tell how effective this has been for the main symptoms I've been trying to alleviate as well: pre-term contractions. I'm taking it along with a Mg cream and an herbal tincture to try to stop pre-term labor.Most Mg suppliers warn effects can take weeks to notice. I'd say if this supplement is helping limit contractions - which it may very well be - it took a few weeks to start. Honestly though, I can't tell what is doing what - but I'm certainly staying on this supplement to do all that I can to help.My contractions have backed off a bit, but I think it took a good 2 weeks to notice and this supplement was taken in conjunction with a topical Mg which is supposed to be the ideal absorption form.I chose this supplement specifically though as it looked like the best quality Mg for bioavailability. I normally use a different supplement co but their Mg contains the herb Ashwagandha (which is an abortifacient) so after some searching I found Smarter Nutrition and will continue looking at them for our families supplement needs as their standards seem to be of the caliber I expect, if I am to expect actual results. Their customer service has been very nice as well. Hope this helps someone.

Great for Relaxation and Sleep!I could definitely feel the difference when I took this at night. It helped me feel more relaxed and contributed to a better, more restful sleep. A great product for anyone looking to unwind and enhance relaxation before bed.
