Bananas in My Ears: A Collection of Nonsense Stories, Poems, Riddles, & Rhymes

What a fun book to introduce poetry to my second graders ... they love it! An added bonus is that it is an Accelerate Reader book so they can take an AR quiz once they have finished reading it!

As a mom of 3, I've read my share of books. This is my kids ABSOLUTE favorite. It's raawwwther silly and perfect for anyone with a British background/ sense of humor!

I found this book to be a grin from ear to ear. I loved it! Thought it was great fun to read. I can only guess that children will find it hard to put down.

Some are funny/ silly - a bit dark humor but that is very Roald Dahl/ Quentin Blake

every child should read this book

A great book sparking thought, humor, imagination and wonder, for both children and parents!

This is delightful, though not at all traditional (notice the word "nonsense" in the title)! I love it. I read it to my grandkids and they loved it. A friend of mine is a 4th grade teacher and she used the book in her classroom for a unit on poetry. It helps kids loosen up and realize that poetry doesn't have to be just so.

Guess we're not into poetry. My 5 yr.old granddaughter kept saying, "This doesn't make any sense." Only got refunded $2.21, with a $12.09 purchase price.

Just great. Fun to read to kids with Quentin Blake's fantastically creative pictures for them to look at.

Bananas in my ears is our fave.
