Good flashlight
There may be better options out there now, but there's a reason I still went for this brand- familiarity and durability. I carried the old incandescent Maglite mini everywhere I went, and then picked up this LED version nearly two years ago. I have carried this flashlight with me nearly every single day for those two years now and it still works and looks great. It has a few small scuffs, but it doesn't impact performance. Some people ask me why I carry a flashlight, and my answer is that this is much brighter than phone camera lights, it has an independent battery from my phone, so it's not eating into that, I can set it in places I wouldn't want my phone to go, and I can very quickly and easily pull it out and turn it on, way before anyone else can get their phone light on. I love the size of this light and the shape, I like that it takes AA batteries instead of some internal LiPo that will eventually lose all charge and die, however I know that lights that take 18650's exist in plenty now, although this light costs less than many of those. While this light may not be as fancy as some others on the market, the KISS principle really applies, and I like my tools simple and functional. This is simple, this is functional, this is my EDC. It may not be for everyone, but it fits my use case.

Not reliable
Purchased in Oct 2024 and at first was please with it. Now it flickers on and off or won't come on. If I take the lens cap off the contact between the LED mounting disc and the body, where I believe it makes electrical contact when the lens cap is twisted, is the issue. If i lightly push it in and out a few times on the LED it works just fine but after a few uses using the lens cap to turn it on or off it starts to get flaky again and won't stay on. Just as I get it on and try to use it in a tight spot it might flicker off, I have to wiggle the lens cap or try to turn it on and off a few times and it my come back on, maybe not. I sent it in to MagLite for service (they have a 10 yr warranty) and after repair it worked for short time and now it has the same issues. Contacted MagLite again and they had me work the battery cap back and forth a few times making sure very tight each time. Also may have been one weak battery that can cause it to flicker. New batteries and now working fine. In spite of initial issues their service is great! Quick response to email, quick turnaround on warranty repairs and even called me back to walk through getting it working correctly. Things happen but good customer service goes a long way in my book.

It Just Won't Work! - UPDATE!!
I finally had a chance to dig into this problem further. I just couldn't figure out why this one was so temperamental, when my other MagLite flashlights worked perfectly. So after a little digging, I discovered that the o-ring that holds the LED light in place wasn’t fully seated. And after pushing it into place, it now works perfectly. No more turning off at will. 👍 I provided a photo of where this o-ring is located. It’s a little hard to see the o-ring, but just inside the case where the LED is located. Hopefully after pressing this into place, your MagLite will work as well. 😊Let me preface this by saying that I currently own other MagLite Mini flashlights. But this was the first (and last) MagLite Mini Pro that I've owned. Living in Florida I thought the ultra bright version of the MagLite would be perfect during the hurricane season. Unfortunately when hurricane Milton recently came my way, the flashlight was a huge disappointment. I had a hard time getting it to even turn on. And once it was on, it would decide on its own that it's time to turn off. This is extremely frustrating, especially when the lights are out in the middle of a hurricane. Fortunately I had my regular MagLite Mini near by. It turned on and stayed on for as long as I wanted. While the regular version is not as bright as the MagLite Mini Pro, but at least it works. So for me, buying the ultra bright version of the MagLite makes no sense if you can't get it to work.
