Knee Compression Sleeves: McDavid Hex Knee Pads Compression Leg Sleeve for Basketball, Volleyball, Weightlifting, and More - Pair of Sleeves

Good Wrestling Kneepads
First of all, this is a set of two, and my daughter's entire wrestling team wears this specific type. I was used to the more solid neoprene sleeve, but that was limited in protection, didnt fit real well, kept slipping down and the stitching irritated the back of my knees. These seem to fit her real well, she only complains of knee pain on the days she forgets them, plus they dont generally reek nor fall apart. I can't say as to how effective they are at facilitating a sliding double or single leg on a standard wrestling mat, but for a technician who drops to one or both knees hard as part of their wrestling techniques, it seems extremely effective.

The best pair to get
I needed knee pads for work since I was constantly having to kneel working as a tire tech. Any other pair wore down in about a week. I’ve had this pair and finally had to retire them after almost a year. The thing that caused the replacement for another pair was the stitching broke on some of the foam so I would have to rearrange them every time I changed for work. This took almost a year to get to this point. I’m always going to buy these whenever this new pair I recently got wears down or if I need more. The foam itself didn’t wear down after the almost year of wearing them at least four times a week for at least three hours each day. Including long 10 hour shifts.

Great - but tight if measured wrong
Sizing:Much like the elbow/knee pad combo offered by McDavid, this is sized somewhat small. I think the critical part is measurement (see below). It is not actually the overall fit of the pad that is tight, but the thin band at the top and bottom of the pad sleeve. I made the mistake of measuring too low on my quad, and the result was a somewhat tight fit. The overall length of these pads sized large (sleeve included) is 16 inches. So make sure to measure 8 inches from the center of your knee to ensure you get the right size.Product:I am a huge fan of these compression sleve/hex pad combos. I can move around and sweat without the chaffing caused by traditional elastic or even neoprene pads. I feel the hex gives a greater range of motion as well. The padding is quite good, with a good bit of "squish" to it. The pad itself is quite large, and great for wraparound knee protection. I feel that there is plenty of padding top to bottom/left to right. I previously bought the Nike Combat Pro slider shorts (with integrated hex), but was disappointed with the thickness and coverage of the padding. These are a much better solution for impact protection.I can move around quite a lot and these pads stay in place. The only movement comes from it being sized a bit small, and the top part of the sleeve has a tendency to slide down a bit on my quad. I think you can comfortably order a "size up" and not worry about it going anywhere - the compression sleeve has plenty of stretch to it when putting it on, so I think there is plenty of leeway.Durability:I am not sure what the durability of the pads would be if exposed to dirt or any abrasion. My pads are purely for impact, and are underneath a layer of clothing. They have survived me and the washing machine!

Best overall knee pad sleeves
I've bought many knee pad sleeves to wear under my pants in the metal shop I work at. These are extremely light weight, you barely notice you're wearing them. Very good form fit when on the knees with comfortable cushion. The sleeves are a good length so they don't pinch behind my knees, and they also stay right in place without falling below my knee. Pad is long enough to go below my knee cap for some added comfort when using the knee to climb up on something a tailgate or a table. Also these are the LEAST SMELLY that I've had, they don't smell like dirty socks/BO nearly as bad as others I've worn. Favorite ones I've found yet, always have been a fan of mcdavid when I was in sports. I am nervous about durability with them because of the light weight, so I typically hand-wash and avoid the dryer. I've still used washer and dryer on them though and they're holding up, wore them 5 days a week for the past few months with no issues. While the Klein Tools knee pads may beat these in durability, these knee pads win in every other way. If you work on your knees like I do, I recommend these. I do still enjoy my klien tools sleeves, but I will still wear the mcdavid ones underneath an oversize pair of the klien tools pads for added cushion and comfort. Highly recommend!

Serve their purpose but thin
We got a black set from academy and they’re on their second season. We decided to order a white set through Amazon and the quality isn’t as good. They had holes the first day.

Top
