Rain Bird LNK2 Smart WiFi Module (2nd Generation), Compatible with TRU Rain Bird Irrigation Timers and ESP-LXIVM, ESP-ME, ESP ME3, ESP-TM2, LXME2, RZXe Controllers Made After 11/2/16

We have a Rain Bird ESP-TM2 series controller for which I purchased this module. The controller has an open slot for a WiFi module and this one plugged right in. Setup took less than 10 minutes after downloading the Rain Bird app.The controller connected easily to our WiFi router and signal strength is very goodThe Rain Bird app provides the ability to change schedules, length of run times, and the addition of zones. We only have a single zone but our controller / module combination will handle up to four. During set up you will pick a few parameters, including soil type. It also automatically knew the rain sensor was connected and active. The controller / module uses this information, and since this module connects to the internet it uses a weather forecast to adjust watering times. We have seen the run times decreased and increased from the point based upon rain and the temperature.This little module and app have made it quite easy to see how the irrigation system is working, and providing ability to make changes. The app has a simple interface, and is not complicated.

Replace my original LNK (and controller) that was lighting damaged. Because I'm using an older Rain-Bird TM controller I must use the legacy iPhone app which is missing some of the newer features of the most recent version. Still this new LNK2 is a superior WiFi module and I'm glad I picked it. Network connection on it is quicker and signal stronger. It's easy to install and the app steps you through setup. I can control and make setting changes to my sprinkler on my iPhone from anywhere.

Easy to follow instructions and pairs with my Rainbird ESP-ME3 with 10 zones. Once you input the location details, it automatically shows you the forecast. With the wifi module, you can control your irrigation system from anywhere in the world. I had it running in less than 5 minutes. This is great as this is being set up at my Summer vacation home and I can manage the watering at my leisure.Must have for anyone with Rainbird water sprinkler system.5 Stars

FWIW, I've read in recent reviews that folks have had issues with connecting to their dual-channel routers that use the same SSID for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz. I did not with my AT&T BGW-320. Slam dunk done in less than two minutes with the entire setup interface using a RainBird TRU-4 controller. Just wish the app was compatible with Apple HomeKit, GRRR!

It works, but I can't get it to join my home WiFi, it seems like it's too far away from it to work. I did put my WiFi range extender in my garage and it worked though, so all is OK for me, but it can't be more than 50 feet from my normal WiFi access point, and my phone picks up the signal from it right by the RainBird station 5 bars, but it can't even see it. So, I have it connecting to the range extender which is directly inside my garage with it on the outside of the wall, which works, but it also increases the price of then thing by another $70.00. I'm just happy I still have the extender around so I don't need to run out and buy one.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I wouldn't be able to control my sprinkler system without this device. It makes my life so much easier and I can actually schedule when my sprinkler system should start and end.

The service which maintains our irrigation system was not especially positive about the earlier version so we took a pass when the system was initially installed. After reading very positive reviews about this newer version, I decided to give it a try.I’m not sure I’ve ever experienced an easier wi-fi based installation. Probably took 5 minutes max. The app is very functional as well.

Slipped right into the slot. Directions were easy, connected without a hitch. Now I can manipulate my irrigation system from anywhere at anytime. Well worth the expense. Had it about a month with no issues.
