Ginger to Blonde done easy
Very impressed! I used this to cover my ginger hair after using a hair stripper to rid my red hair. I was shocked to see how fast this worked. I did need another toner afterwards to get my desired shade but this did a lot of work for me. Highly recommended.

Awful my hair went so wrong, it looked so dredful! Not clear instruction ect, will not be using again. Bad experience with this dye.

Not what it used to be
Had used this previously to lighten my hair when I went through my crazy colours phaze (black and blonde, black and red, purple, pink, red and blue, red and blonde lol) and found it stripped out colour really well-leaving it a gorgeous light blonde every time. After having my natural colour (dark brown) for a while (I did have it very dark red but that had all washed out) I decided I wanted to be blonde. Didn't work as well as I previously- quite patchy with alot of light ginger tones. Had to use two other hair dyes to achieve the colour I wanted (medium blonde) so overall not greatly impressed.

I feel really sorry that the reviews for this product have so far been poor. My experience with this highlighting kit couldn't be more different. Having used it about 4 times I have nothing but positive things to say and I would be simply gutted if it was ever discontinued by Smartbeauty. The issue I think that some people may have come across is that they use this on the entire head. That's fine, but really this is not an all over dye or sun-in product. Instead, this is a professional standard highlighter kit which works as such - meaning that it is ideal for highlights rather than a full head application. In my case, I tear up long sections of foil before I begin and brush the formula on small sections of my hair (approx about 18 - 20). My natural colour is light brown and I have found that when used with the toner which is included in the box, that this turns my hair a beautiful honey blonde in the highlighted sections which looks both natural and leaves my hair in a good condition. The colour is akin to the caramel shade of Jennifer Aniston or Fern from TOWIE. I assure you that I can't find another product that delivers this. I should think that if applied to the whole head then it's just the same as getting an all over bleach job - not good. So think before you use it about which sections you want to do and how to achieve subtle highlights. I think this would work just as well with a highlighting cap. I'm no expert but this is the only off the shelf blonding product that hasn't turned my hair ginger. I know you can get products like this in America but in the UK there is really nothing else like it unless you go to Sally's and buy a bulk of bleaching powder and developer and who wants to do that! Another great thing is that there is no amonia but best of all you get two applications for the price of one as the power and developer cream is divided into four packets. I use half the toner and seal it with a peg clip to save it until the next application.I never write reviews but felt so strongly that this product should be praised for what it is: simply a great highlighting kit which will give you stunning natural highlights if used sparingly and with common sense i.e check your hair each 5 minutes until it has turned the correct level of blonde for you. It couldn't be simpler to use to do you own highlights at home with this, all you need is kitchen foil and some common sense. Will save you hundreds at the hairdresser as the results are exactly the same as I've had previously from professional salons. Take care when applying it that you don't splash it about check it frequently when developing and I promise, you'll be amazed if you're not into platinum or yellow blonde and want a natural honey colour.I LOVE LOVE LOVE it and want to share that with anyone considering doing their own foils or cap at home. Without this kit I honestly don't know what I'd do.

Be very carefull
Im not reviewing the seller but the product, BE VERY CAREFULL, I bought this thinking it would just add a touch of honey blonde to my faded highlights I find the title very misleading, in hairdressers toners is just similar to a tint, not this, it bleqches your hair up, it ruined my existing highlights and turned my brown bits (roots)yellow, made my hair very dry and I only kept it on for 5 mins as could feel and see it taking before my eyes I took it off quick, this was 6months ago thankfully after good cuts and many hair masks ive got my beautifull highlights back, id be very carefull personally I feel this shouldnt be sold off t h e shelf.
